Watch The September Issue Full Movie/Film

First, let me tell you that I am a straight man who is not at all interested at fashion. I have never bought a Vogue September issue nor have I ever even bought a fashion magazine. After realizing this movie got great reviews, I decided to see it. The reviews were right and I most certainly was not disappointed. The September Issue is the rare kind of movie that is a combination of documentary with a message and elegance.

Many people know about Anna Wintour. If you seen The Devil Wears Prada, you'll know that she is pure evil. Although there may be some truth to this statement, this movie paints her in a different light. The movie opens with her explaining that people who wear high fashion should not be made fun of just because they were haute couture. Wintour is looked at as more of a person with morals who gets what she wants because she often is right and does what is best for the magazine. She doesn't strive to be mean, she does it for the magazine.

The star of the movie is not Wintour. It's actually the creative director, Grace Coddington. Coddington is not nearly as likable as Wintour ironically, but she is central to the movie and the reason it is so good. The movie's message is about how the fashion world is so superficial and perfect. Towards the end, the cameraman for the movie is used in a photograph, however, he is just an average person who is slightly overweight. Coddington urges people not to touch the picture up. She says "Nobody is perfect, but models are." This is the movie's central idea.

Another reason I really enjoyed the movie is that it really does have some great film-making. R.J. Cutler really does have some nice shots including my favorite of a couple kissing in front of the Eiffel Tower. It has nothing to do with the movie and yet it is such a moving shot. There are quite a few establishing shots similar to this in the movie and these little things are the icing on the cake.

You don't have to be a fashion lover to love this movie. You don't have to be a subscriber to Vogue. You don't have to be a woman. Whatever your preconceptions about this were, ignore them. This a movie for anybody that should be seen by everybody. The September Issue opens wide this weekend so make use of it and go see it.

Watch Sorority Row (2009) Full Movie/Film

I've seen films like this before, many times before and let me tell you that there pretty much all the same they all have three main factors that make it very easy and very predictable at the same time.

1.Hot girls( which doesn't make it any better, but it does make it bearable.) horrendous acting, a throwaway blow your brains out script(I Mean that literally you'd want to put a gun to your head and pull the trigger.) 2. A very bland and extremely clique plot that you could easily figure out what was going to happen before it happens ( Think Final Destination and you've got yourself a winner.) 3. This concept has already been done, think,"I know what you did last summer." this film is it.. just with a different story and a different chain of events but it's the same present in a whole new package.

If you like bad acting, a clique plot and a rip-off story than this film is the movie to see. All in all avoid it and go see something worth wild like "District9","Inglorious Bastards" or even "G.I. Joe: The rise of Cobra. This film delivers nothing new except a a bad spin on An old story. Sorority Row is an A-Bomb.

Watch Whiteout (2009) Full Movie/Film Xvid

While many have found graphic novels to be an excellent template for film adaptations, not all of them translate well to the big screen. Sadly, such is the case with Whiteout, which suffers in everything from the major (lackluster characters, crippling flashback quantities) to the minor (shoddy special effects, blatant continuity errors). As Kate Beckinsale trades fangs and skintight leather for parkas, she also leaves the entertainment value out in the cold. At least the suspense is handled with some care, though the harsh weather is far scarier than the ice-pick wielding villain.

A troubled past finds U.S. Marshall Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale) stationed at a remote scientific research facility in Antarctica. With only three days left before the base is plunged into a six-month-long darkness, Stetko is called upon to investigate a mysterious sighting. Uncovering the mutilated body of a scientist, she must race against time to solve the murder before she's trapped with a killer in the coldest, most isolated place in the world.

The flashback doesn't have to be a painful storytelling technique, but Whiteout manages to horrifically abuse the tool. In poorly derived moments the film flashes back to the opening scene, to hazy, orange-colored character establishing memories and, in perhaps the most idiotic moment, to less than one minute ago. It's nothing short of staggeringly insulting to the audience. Carrie's history has almost no affect on her ability to catch the killer and is so simple that it could have been summed up in a routine conversation. Early on, the film even misuses fading to black, repeatedly creating a disorienting sense of missing footage.

Movies like 30 Days of Night or The Thing have already, more impressively, utilized an abnormally cold setting and toy with the viewer's fears of extreme isolation, distrust and paranoia. In Whiteout, claustrophobia, asphyxiation and being buried alive are also introduced, along with the common, location-specific "freezing to death." What isn't so notable is the whiteout of the title, a snowstorm with 100 mph winds that prevent visibility beyond six inches. During the brief scenes dealing with the storm, the lack of sight is frequently anticlimactic, particularly when the blurry, fighting figures are nearly indistinguishable.

Director Dominic Sena (Gone in 60 Seconds, Swordfish) must have been exceptionally proud of the special makeup effects department, donating generous amounts of screen time to disturbing shots of badly mutilated bodies. To make up for the grisly images is an immoderately gratuitous shower scene with Beckinsale that somehow produces no inappropriate nudity. Apparently the clarity inside a bathroom is as hindered as outside in the blizzard.

Watch 9 (2009/I) Full Movie Online Cam

It would be easy to dismiss 9 as simply an instance of visual artistry masking an underwhelming post-apocalyptic story; but upon closer inspection, the plot actually only suffers from too many ideas for the truncated runtime. Many of the concepts are clever and new and the elaborate action sequences provide the thrills, though the setting and man vs. machine apocalypse have seen more than their share of incarnations. But what the story lacks in expected profoundness, the generally impressive visual designs more than make up for. All nine "stitchpunk" protagonists are memorable and easily distinguishable (the variety of celebrity voices don't hurt), and the enemy machines possess all manner of sharp weaponry and enormous statures. Perhaps the focus on action over origins keeps the excitement from fading, but for a world so full of possibilities, it seems like the answers should have been as exhilarating as the explosions.

"Stitchpunk" creation 9 (Elijah Wood) awakens to a desolate world ravaged by war. Full of questions, he ventures forth and encounters 2 (Martin Landau), a being like himself, only less complex in design. But before he can learn much about his surroundings or his past, his newfound friend is captured by a gargantuan metal beast and dragged away to a mysterious factory. 9 soon discovers more stitched beings, including the one-eyed 5 (John C. Reilly), the cryptic 6 (Crispin Glover), the battle adept 7 (Jennifer Connelly), the brutish 8 (Fred Tatasciore), the mute twins 3 and 4, and their ominous leader 1 (Christopher Plummer), who rules the group with fear and paranoia. In a hasty attempt to rescue 2, 9 accidentally activates a terrible creation, and must now lead the group on a perilous mission to uncover the secrets of the past in order to save their future.

The blind pursuit of technology brought humankind closer to doom, leaving in its wake the charred remains of civilization and the arrival of tiny, intellectual patchwork puppets. With little more than a couple of sentences to explain the vast, frightening, "Terminator 2" post-apocalyptic world, 9 jumps right into the mystery and wonder of deciphering a new existence and fending off mortifying, robotic creatures. Gathering clues about these strange critters and learning about their purpose is half the fun, although with a short runtime and way too much to clarify, the plot suffers from abrupt solutions. The introduction of a mystical talisman, for example, provides a rather unlikely and vague explication for the formidable predicaments.

As with most futuristic and science-fiction films, the setup often requires so much background that either it's left obscure or it envelopes the entire movie. With 9, the setting is dwarfed by the visuals, focusing almost entirely on incredibly creative designs and taught action sequences. The environment is beautiful in its daunting desolation, and the enemies are wickedly crafted from mercilessly sharp, rusty and jagged metal scraps. The nine sack dolls are also inventively pieced together with the oddments of the shattered human race (the remnants of steampunk), and like The Magnificent 9, each serves a unique mental and physical purpose. With fascinating, abrasive visuals, a PG-13 rating and a few scares that are quite intense for younger audiences, 9 confirms the birth of a notably adult computer animated feature.

No Impact Man: The Documentary (2009) Full Documentary

Why make a documentary about how a family tries to live emissions-free for a year, but not give you the results on screen? The theory is that the team didn't want to give out spoilers from the coming book, therefore, this is pretty dull stuff. Home movies, basically. The most action-ridden moment is when the family tries and fails to build an Nigerian pot fridge, which was as interesting or arousing as watching three butchers beating on a piece of meat in an endlessly repetitive way against a sterile background.

It was so mind-numbingly dull, after the first hour all I wanted to do was pull my own head off. I tried to find something to grab on to and sit to the end. Finally I thought of something that needed to be seen to in the bathdroom. I came back, got some coffee, and began wandering in and out of the lobby for a while. Then I walked out of the theater.

Any movie is boring if it doesn't involve you in the characters and the story. Sometimes that's not the filmmaker's fault. Or, one man's poison is another man's poison. It's important to remember boring / bad movies so that you DON't watch them again.

By the way, of course the family's efforts were more than undone by all the energy expended to make this film, not to mention all the people who further defiled the ozone by going to see it in theaters. At least I didn't notice any bikes in the parking lot when I saw it.. Oh, and they'll be printing a book soon, too, as well.

Watch All About Steve (2009) Full Movie Divx

I walked into this movie only knowing that it was about some crazy girl obsessed with some guy. I was like "oh yes another chick flick, can't wait...". In the end this is defiantly not a chick flick, it was a romantic comedy for both sexes. This movie was not overrated it had the perfect combination of comedy, romance, and even a scene of horror that had the whole theater jump. The acting in this movie was phenomenal and everyone can relate a little bit to this movie. The thing that made this movie awesome was that they made every character lovable. Usually I'm not a huge fan of romantic comedy's, but in my opinion this was one of the best I've seen since 50 First Dates. Another thing that made me love this movie was that it didn't drag and it either had me smiling or laughing the whole time. I could watch this movie over and over again. I gave this a 10/10 without even thinking about giving it a 9. Perfect movie!

Watch Carriers (2009) Full Movie Online Divx

I just left the screening of "Carriers". It was the opening Movie on this years Fantasy Film Fest. At least here in Munich. Well, my first reaction to this film was something like "Wow... this where long 90 Minutes". Most of the other crowd thought the same and their comments where quite similar to mine. Meaning: Good, but a bit slow.

This Movie needs a little tightening to speed it up a little bit. It does a lot of things right! The characters are worked out properly, the camera-work is top notch and the acting is very good. But sometimes there are scenes, that last too long. You know where the Directors want to go, you know how the scene will play out in the end, but it still goes on and on and on... So again: a little trimming would do the film good!

Well, and then there is this whole "Wrong Marketing"-Thing. At least here in Germany they try to sell this movie as a Horror-Movie. That's just wrong. Sure, there are the classic Horror-Elements, but overall "Carriers" is a strong, heavy Drama. There is virtually NO Action and even less gore in it. Instead there are long dialogs, dramatic events and more dialogs. That's fine with me, but it makes the movie hard to find it's audience. The GoreHounds will be disappointed by the lack of blood and guts and the Drama-Fans will be pushed away by the apocalyptic Elements...

So. Once again: "Carriers" has great potential but is a little bit to slow and to heavy on the drama to pass as a great movie.

WHAT HAPPENED? I love mike judge. He is comic genius with Office Space, Beavis and Butthead and King of the Hill. There was no plot to this movie and it was slow. At times it reminded me of Very Bad Things... not the great movie part, the part like knowing something horrible is going to happen and you can't do anything about it, but it never did... nothing ever happened.

There were places the plot could have gone and the movie would have taken a much better turn, it didn't happen. It was just not well though out or developed. I really didn't like any of the characters, which is a shame. This had a pretty strong cast. It was all bad script. I stayed thinking it would get better. It didn't. Don't waste your time.

Watch Gamer (2009) Full Movie Cam

Just came back from a preview. This movie starts right in the middle of the action. Heavy thunderous music, loud and manic mayhem. The premise is good in my opinion. Real humans control other humans, but with a twist - I won't go into details :o)

If you've seen the Crank films, you'll immediately notice the style of the directors. Every action frame fast paced, quickly edited, the use of music and all kinds of sounds add to the total viewing experience.

I finally got a chance to see Mr. Butler use some serious fighting skills. The way he molests the badguys make you wanne clap your hands in pure joy. The guy just looks really fit !

At the end of the movie, a thought came to mind : when playing online games, who hides behind the characters ?

Watch Halloween II (2009) Full Movie Online

it has been hyped up a lot more than it is! i watched it ONLINE at * halloween2.tk * It was one of the most brutally violent movies I've ever seen, and I enjoy horror movies. I enjoy the original Halloween so much because it was more psychological, and cerebral. It didn't need a ton of gore to be scary, but Rob Zombie's fetish for violence as well as blondes in all of his movies has taken it's toll on me. The amount of gore and brutality in this last movie I think was more than his first three films combined. Excessive is an understatement especially considering that this movie could've been just as scary if not scarier had he muted the blood a little, and not put that crap in with his wife, because the cinematography was fantastic and very creepy in my opinion. I haven't decidedyet if this was more scary or just flat out disgusting.

Wow this movie is the worst one I've seen since Supernova. I actually found myself waving my hand in the "get on with it" motion about half way through the movie. Florid yet predictable dialogue, pedestrian composition, lighting that fights the theme of most scenes, ZERO character development, Massive use of Deus Ex Machina, Dialogue that desperately needed an editor, Visual quotes done so poorly as to suggest that the original was poorly understood.

I lost "suspension of disbelief" numerous times. I kept sticking around HOPING the movie would get better, yet it only seemed to get worse and worse. A cartoon of a cartoon.

Watch The Final Destination Full Movie R5

This entry to the series takes a different approach. From the moment I saw the X-rayed-death-scene opening credit sequence with the hard rock cover of the creepy main theme of the series, I knew that the movie was not to be taken seriously, and a little help from the third dimension drove that idea home.

The Final Destination is a caricature of itself and the the entire series for that matter. This film was made with the knowledge that people still see these films for the ridiculously over the top and creative death scenes. Its like watching the trap go off in mouse trap; Its the only thing people came for.

There are about a dozen deaths in this entry as opposed to the regular 6-8 and the majority of them are fairly lengthy. Little attention is payed to the story or the characters but why bother? We've seen all this before? And I find that the hammy dialogue that the characters do manage to sputter out, only enhances the self-parody.

Fans of the series are either going to love it or think its OK and almost everyone else will hate it. SO If you've stuck it out through the other 3 films, check it out, and don't take it seriously.

Watch G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Full Movie

This movie may have a questionable script, some sub-par actors (Some were surprisingly good for a popcorn movie which is applaudable) and some Team America style action (They seemed to cause a lot more damage to Paris then the terrorists plan to) but the film can not help but be entertaining. It has what Transformers 2 had which was good special effects, but what Transformers 2 lacked was entertainment which this movie definitely has, even if it is n't a very good movie from a movie point of view.

While lots of people and critics alike are going to bag the hell out of this film, I think as long as you go in with an open mind a low expectancy of the movie to hold any sort of realism you will have a pretty good time, which is really the reason the film was made (After the money of course).

Overall, this film is a good watch for non fans of the series at least but, not having seen the cartoon I cant speak for existing fans of G.I. Joe but I had a good time, and I think a lot of other people will 2 as long as they can maintain an open mind.

Watch A Perfect Getaway (2009) Full Movie

This is a good movie. However, it will probably not get a fair shot by most. The reason is the way the story is structured in which apparently nothing happens in the first 45 minutes. For today's average 18-34 audience this is almost intolerable as they are now conditioned to expect cheap CGI thrills and impossibly huge explosions in the first two minutes of the film (not necessarily a bad thing BTW). What underrated Director/Writer David Towhy is doing is actually putting your brain to work during the first two acts of the movie, all the while enjoying some incredible visuals of the Hawaiian tropical rain forest. Towhy concentrates on subtle character development. The acting is good. Mila Jovovich and Timothy Oliphant are the two that carry the film throughout. All in all I have to say that Towhy put out a fairly plausible story here with none of the CGI generated hyperbole that we see so much of nowadays.

Watch I Sell the Dead (2008) Full Movie Online

I saw this movie as part of the Midnite Madness at Sitges. Set in 18th century England, the plot covers the life of Arthur Blake from his first outing as an apprentice grave robber to his final confession on the eve of his execution.

The plot moves along via a series of misadventures involving Arthur and his partner encountering various unsavory characters and bizarre situations.

The first thing that strikes you about this movie is how accurately they managed to capture the look of the Hammer period horrors, the atmosphere is set with lots of fog laden graveyards, rowdy tavern scenes and excellent set/costume design.

For a movie titled I Sell the Dead, I was expecting the emphasis to be mostly on horror – don't get me wrong there are some jumpy moments and gore, but the tone is very much comedic, driven by the situations the characters get themselves into and their dialog. The closest comparison to the scenes between the two leads (Larry Fessenden and Dominic Monaghan) is the character interaction seen in the classic English comedies Only Fools and Horses, the Two Ronnies and Morecambe and Wise.

The acting is strong and the casting of very familiar faces in Ron Perlman and Angus Scrimm lift the movie above many of the others on view in Sitges.

Overall the movie offers something very different to the current crop of mainstream horror and will leave a smile on your face.

Watch Grace (2009/III) Full Movie Online DVDrip

I saw this wonderful film at the AFI Film Festival. It was so refreshing to see a truly great horror film. Nowadays, all we get are teenager-themed slasher films that concentrate on horrible acting and gore. This film was eerie because it has a truly compelling and chilling plot. The idea of an undead baby, and a mother's love for it, was haunting. The multi-layered plot had you always at the edge of your seat. Grace is perhaps the best horror film I have ever seen. It reminded me of Rosemary's Baby in the sense that it used a chilling story to frighten you-not overdone slasher gore. Not to mention beautiful cinematography and direction.

Watch Spread (2009) Full Movie Online Cam

Spread is an unusual little film. I say 'little', as it's essentially a low budget character-driven drama that is some how being commercially packaged as a rom-com. A quick glance at the credits reveals that this isn't your average Kutcher vehicle: it's directed by Scotland's David Mackenzie of "Young Adam" and "Hallam Foe" fame.

Make no mistake, the Kutcher we see at the start of the film is very familiar: arrogant, uptight and utterly beautiful. But as the run-time flies past, we somehow warm to his character even though he's getting more sex than most of us will get in a lifetime. And here's the good news: Kutcher's performance is fairly astounding. He manages to reveal the humanity in his deeply flawed character with notable subtlety and a distinct lack of cliché. Kutcher's (many) sexual relationships portrayed in the film are brutally realistic: the modern and perhaps unromantic realities of casual sex are not dressed-up in any cheap Hollywood moralising. This is also evident in the overall tone of the film: there are many moments that could have descended into schmaltz, but a sharp edge it maintained on just about every line of dialogue.

Kutcher fans: beware. This is a real departure for the actor, but thank goodness: it's a movie with all the superficial gloss of Hollywood and all the invention of an indie flick.

Watch It Might Get Loud (2008) Full Movie Online

An incredible doc featuring The Edge, Jimmy Page, and Jack White. The film is very, very well done. The opening credits are pretty cool. The thing is, at many times this film seems to work best for Edge and Page. It really is amazing to watch Edge go over the technicalities involved in creating his trademark style. Page is incredible; it's especially funny in one scene, where the other two are singing, and he flatly declares, "I can't sing!" - hilarious. Jack White seems to be a little out of his element here. He's the young gun of course, and over time perhaps he'll be thought of in a similar light to his legendary predecessors. But really, there is nothing to complain about. There is some classic footage of U2 (dressed in new wave clothes??) that may leave you laughing! The vintage reels of Page and U2 still give me the chills. Guggenheim has done a fantastic job. I look forward to seeing it again.

Watch The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard (2009) Full Movie

It seems like every week i'm saying there is a new "funniest movie of the year." "Funny People" is my current favorite but "The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard" is it's non-dramatic equivalent.

First off this is a great role for Jeremy Piven, very much in Ari Gold-form as Don Ready, a car salesman-for-hire who travels around America with his crew helping out lackluster dealerships. Don is the type of character you immediately love, a born talker who not only manages to smoke on the plane ride over to Temecula, CA, he turns it into an all-out orgy complete with live mariachi band.

Why go to Temecula? The car dealership owned by Ben Selleck (James Brolin) is in trouble, struggling with rag-tag salesman, poor sales returns, and as Babs (Kathryn Hahn), one part of Don's crew points out, the place looks like a "refugee camp for dirty men." Along with his other two sidekicks, Brent (David Koechner) and Jibby (Ving Rhames), Don must sell all the cars off the lot or the dealership faces being sold to Stu Harding (Alan Thicke), another more successful dealer.

His son is Paxton Harding (Ed Helms), a late-30's man whose real dream is for his boy band to finally get off the ground. Paxton is engaged to Selleck's daughter Ivy (Jordana Spiro), who Don also finds attractive. Soon Ivy, plus a long-lost son Don fathered when he was 10-years old, encourages him to think about finally settling down. Wall to wall ridiculousness ensues.

Directed by Neal Brennan (a former writer on Chappelle Show) and written by Andy Stock and Rick Stempson, this is an offensively rude, crude, profane laugh machine from first scene to last. There are a few really good lines and the supporting cast gets some of the most hilarious material i've seen this year. The Daily Show's Rob Riggle as Selleck's son Peter, a 10 year old with a pituitary problem that makes him look 40. Kathryn Hahn as Don's sexually abrasive partner, using porno to sell cars and lusting after the innocent but very hunky Peter. Charles Napier as an older salesman who pines for the olden days and gets crazily angry and offensive to women, gays, Asians, and just about everybody really. Ving Rhames, playing a character who's had sex with thousands of women but has never "made love". Ed Helms, with his pot-belly and spiky hair-do, does nice work with the boy band stuff. James Brolin has a running gay gag with David Koechner that never gets old, and Brolin's car commercial, where he guilt-trips everyone to buy because he is dying of ball cancer, had me in tears. And like I said, I'm trying not to give too much away but Will Ferrell gets a cameo that single-handedly makes you forgive the atrocity that was "Land of the Lost."

Watch The Time Traveler’s Wife (2009) Full Movie

I had read the book three times when it first came out, so I was excited when I got tickets to an advance screening. I was just hoping they didn't ruin the book. I know films can't be like the books, so I carefully did not re-read it.

They did an awesome job with the film. They captured the story, the flavor, the essence of the book, even if they did have to leave some things out. I loved the girls playing Alba.

There was laughing at the funny parts and some crying at the sad. My sister loved it. She had no intentions of reading it and only went because I had tickets. She was sniffly when we left and now has the book.

Notice to guys who like blow em ups. This is a romantic chick flick! Though the one guy I had talked to in line was crying as we left. He did say he loved it.

I would have given it a nine if some of the scenes hadn't been filmed in the dark like a lot of Hollywood.

I don't want to be an party ruiner but this movie was terrible in terms of entertainment. It was lousy, slow and really not interesting. Here again i don't want to be cruel but half of the people in here watched the movie because of New Moon's exclusive trailer or glimpse whatever you call it. Vanessa Hudgens was the only positive point, she was being herself and she was not over-reacting i really liked her goofy and corky character. Lisa Kudrow was terrible has a mom, i don't need to say that a lot of talent was wasted in here. The story was OK the acting was terrible and the ending was painful so if you are a big fan of Vanessa please don't expect that much from this movie.

Watch District 9 (2009) FULL MOVIE DIVX

I attended a promotional screening for this with a pretty good attitude towards all the hype that surrounded it. It was not what I expected, it was much better.

Not only were the CGI top notch, but the narrative is driven through a believable plot. Watching this film made me believe that a situation as such had occurred on Earth, and therefore the far fetched notion of an extra terrestrial race visiting us becomes so close to a reality through a story that is so realistically depicted.

District 9 is a beautifully crafted film which shows signs of great promise for being around for a while, a subject talked about by many people. Can't wait to watch this again with my friends = )

Diary of a Tired Black Man Full Movie Online

I looked at the external reviews for this film; all of them were positive. That's pretty amazing, as very few films ever made have received only good reviews. Then I noticed that the IMDb rating is only 2.9 out of 10, one of the lowest ratings on IMDb.

It's also peculiar that out of 80 ratings, not one person wrote a review. These facts don't seem to add up.

The maker of the film didn't choose only the good reviews and exclude all of the bad ones, did he? That would be rather biased. However, almost all of the external reviews I read, even though they rated the film highly, said the filmmaker was very biased in his presentation of black men being mistreated by their unappreciative black women.

I really don't know what the rules of IMDb are as far as what external reviews are included or not; whether the filmmakers have control over what is posted regarding their films.

Watch Funny People (2009) Full Movie

I'll start by saying that I am a Judd Apatow fan. I've loved most of his movies, including the two previous movies he's directed, The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up. I've seen each many times, and they are two of my favorite comedies.

This, however, didn't prepare me for his newest, Funny People. Apatow has become well known for his sweet, adult comedies, but this movie is very different from his others. I would almost call it a "funny drama." This has it's pros and cons. I don't think I laughed out loud as much as in either of the other two films, but what I got in return, is an actual good movie, that's actually ABOUT something.

I liked Adam Sandler before I knew what a good movie was, as I grew up watching his lighter movies, like Waterboy, Happy Gilmore, etc. I've seen him so much that he ceased becoming an actor to me and actually reached a point of self-parody. His role as comedian George Simmons is perfect for him, because he's basically playing himself, to a point. He gives the performance of his life, even better than Punch-Drunk- Love. His portrayal is cold and confused, angry and hurt. It's what a comedian might truly be like when he's not on stage. He plays it perfectly, providing a likable character while at the same time showing us there might not be so much to like. He's the best part of this movie, and that's saying something

The supporting cast is great, as usual. Seth Rogan actually plays a different character than his other movies as Ira, who acts as a great foil to George Simmons. Jason Schwartzman and Jonah Hill provide some great comedic backup, including their hilarious fictional sitcom "Yo, Teach". In fact, a lot of the laugh out loud comedy from the film stems from the many supporting performances and cameos (My favorites being Marshall Mathers and James Taylor). Eric Bana is very funny, and Leslie Mann gives an impressive performance as well.

Funny People's only real problem is it's ambition, and that's definitely the best problem to have. It's nearly two and a half hours, and while I didn't have a problem with the length, it obviously had to end when it did, as there aren't many people who would want to sit through a three hour comedy. I wish it could have ran even longer, as some subplots weren't fleshed out nearly enough. I really liked the romance between Ira and Daisy (Played by Aubrey Plaza, who is sweet and funny in every scene she's in), but it was rushed, and in the end cut short, which is a shame, because it's one of the best parts of the movie.

Above all, this is a real movie. It's success doesn't just depend on the amount of laughs it receives. Thanks to Sandler and a thought provoking story, this is more than just another raunchy-sweet comedy. The movie will definitely divide people more than the others, and I'm not sure it will find as big of an audience. Judd Apatow has improved tremendously with each movie he's directed, and, despite his detractors, he's going to be the king of the comedy movie for a long, long time.

i personally went to see this movie with my 8yr old and the movie is really a children's movie first off if you go to see the movie expecting great cgi don't bother but if you want a decent movie to watch with your child then its good enough its a better choice than g force for sure. I am not one of those people that are go watch a movie with low expectations but this one was not a total let down there are jokes and scenes that your kids will find funny because it appeals to their understanding and plus the movies make a lot of reference to video games so if u are not into those then you'll not get most oft the jokes but i must admit it is a bit corny

Watch Adam (2009/I) Full Movie Online High Quality

Having seen "Adam" just last night, I can definitely say that it is one of the year's best and most touching romantic comedies.

"Adam" stars Hugh Dancy as a man living with Asperger's syndrome who does his best to reach out to his pretty new upstairs neighbor. Due to his condition, Adam isn't the best when it comes to communicating. Though he frequently escapes by submersing himself in the world of space exploration, Adam senses an opportunity for a real human connection after Beth (Rose Byrne) moves into the apartment just upstairs. As Adam attempts to gain control of his off-kilter, sometimes embarrassing social skills, he discovers that with a little patience and understanding, developing a meaningful relationship might not be as hard as he previously thought.

The story is definitely sounds like a different kind of romantic comedy, and that is what it is. It's very different. The relationship between Hugh Dancy and Rose Byrne is very genuine. It's very real. The struggles both go through in the film are very well portrayed. Hugh Dancy is wonderful. He had the tough challenge to portray someone who had Asperger's syndrome. His performance was so beautifully done. He was great. Rose Byrne was also brilliant. Her character is attracted to Dancy's character, and further along in the film, she realizes being in a relationship with someone who has Asperger's is definitely something that won't be easy. Byrne's character goes through a lot in the film, and tries to juggle everything with all normal expected human emotion that goes with it. Her character definitely learns a lot throughout the film. Byrne is amazing. Having never heard of Asperger's syndrome before, I walked in with no knowledge of it. The film handled it very well. That's all I can say. It left me with a new interest for Asperger's.

The Cove (2009) Full Movie HQ

Enough has been said about this excellent documentary, but I wanted to comment on the negative responses, some of which are posted here and which also can be read on the message board. If you have not seen this movie, DON'T PAY ANY ATTENTION to the moronic comments, view this film and judge for yourself. If you are an intelligent, caring person, concerned about the environment and the animals, you must see this documentary. The film was made with great risks involved and all who took part in making it have to be commended for their courage and desire to show the truth. I saw the film several days ago and I cannot get it out of my head. It is the most disturbing film I have seen since "The Witness" (not to be confused with the one starring Harrison Ford). When I saw the movie, the theatre was practically empty, and that was disappointing because people should be made aware of the horrors documented in this film.

Watch The Collector 2009 Full Movie Online R5

Name-dropping is an extremely common tactic in cinema, and much to the chagrin of movie fans who would just as soon save twenty bucks, it usually works. I suppose it would be difficult to not name-drop in some regard; how else, with the multitudes of movies many every year, would a film with no extremely well-known actors and actresses get any publicity at all? The pushers of The Collector therefore chose to highlight two individuals involved with Saw IV, V, and VI fame, no doubt hoping that Saw franchise followers, of which there are throngs, would see The Collector and make it an overnight hit. And me? Of fulfilling the name-dropping purpose, I am 100% guilty, but unfortunately, would just as soon have saved twenty bucks.

The opening of the film appears promising: a man and a woman return home to find their power off, and discover a strange box in their bedroom that moves menacingly. The ending of that scene, coupled with the imagery accompanying the electronic/industrial opening soundtrack, does in fact remind of Saw, but that's where the good similarities end.

The Collector's central actor Josh Stewart, who looks as if he could be Sean Penn's younger brother, plays Arkin, a longtime handyman for a rich family. Arkin's ex-wife has apparently accrued a sum of debt with loan sharks, and is relying upon Arkin to get her enough money to appease them. Arkin, utilizing his ties with associates he met while in prison, enters an agreement with said associates whereby he will rob his employer in order to get money by midnight of the day in question. As it turns out, his employer, played by Michael Reilly Burke (of the titular role in indie flick Ted Bundy), is a jewel broker, and has a safe hidden in his bedroom that contains a very large gem. We also get glimpses into the lives of Burke's screen wife and two daughters, one a teen, and one much younger. So far, so good - a story not that much out of the ordinary, and an intriguing movie intro that implies Arkin will run into similar happenstance.

Thirst

I found that this film was beautifully crafted. The cinematography was well above excellent. I though almost any frame could be frozen, and you would have yourself an exquisite photograph. The use of color stands out most. In many instances the camera was gliding through the scene and the work was flawless.

Park Chan Wook's direction was fantastic. He had me believing unwaveringly in his far- fetched universe. There were several touches of verbal and visual humor (of a dark nature) that just added another depth to the picture as a whole.

The acting I would not call outstanding but it suited the film and worked well enough.

For me, the only place where this film lacked was in the story. At times, I will not lie, the goings on between characters just did not make sense. Sometimes the story flow was clunky. Overall, I was disappointed with the subdued narrative, and I felt it ran a little too long.

But I still recommend this film, for its vision, its visual flourish, its dark humor, and at the end of the day, it is an interesting film even if imperfect. 9/10

I Love You, Beth Cooper (2009) Full Movie Divx

After seeing a trailer that seemed to have promise I was rather surprised at how much this film lacked any laughs. This fault lies with the directing and editing. The actors seemed to give performances up to that of any other teen comedy, but the timing of the whole movie was off.....and in comedy, timing is everything! The fact that the story has little character set-up and uses every cliché stolen from numerous comedies before it does not help the ill paced scenes.

I managed to leave the theater without requesting my money back, but you know when people in the audience are having full conversations during a film, it is hardly holding anyone's attention.

Pass at the B.O. and only rent it on DVD if you have an unlimited plan and are running out of things to see.

Watch In the Loop (2009) Full Movie R5

Cinematic comedy is a depressing plane of existence at the moment, mostly consisting of irritating and borderline-misogynist slackers acting like adolescent twits, so whenever a film comes out that manages to generate laughs on an intelligent subject, it must be celebrated. Therefore, allow me to segue into a cliché: If you only see one comedy this year, make it In the Loop, the directorial debut of the great British humorist Armando Iannucci and the spin-off film of The Thick of It, a "West Wing meets The Office" sitcom which hopefully will achieve the stateside recognition it deserves as a result of the picture's release.

The film has already received comparisons to Dr. Strangelove, Stanley Kubrick's timeless satire in which the fate of the world rests in the hands of sexually depraved warhawks, and while Iannucci's directing owes more to Christopher Guest than Mr. Kubrick, both films nevertheless cover the madcap behavior of their characters in a disorienting sense of realism. At no point does the film resort to zany musical cues or obnoxious flat lighting to indicate where the laughs are supposed to come. The screenplay is funny enough without those touches, and it successfully revives the art of swearing through some of the most outrageous profanities ever strung together in the English language. In addition, all the actors deliver their instantly quotable one-liners with the utmost sincerity, especially Peter Capaldi as the explosive Malcolm Tucker. Also look out for a marvelous cameo by Steve Coogan as an English citizen complaining about a wall.

Watch Shrink (2009) Full Movie Cam

Unlike last year's similarly undercirculated film chronicling the interconnecting lives of several people in the Hollywood film biz, 'What Just Happened,' 'Shrink' succeeds in dismantling the barrier between characters and audiences.

The film's main character, Doctor Henry Carter (Kevin Spacey), is just one of several that manages to slowly earn your compassion. Kevin Spacey has always done an excellent job playing Kevin Spacey, but his role as Carter gives him a slightly larger emotional gamut to run, making it his best of the decade.

The rest of the cast (including a seldom seen Saffron Burrows and an unusually placed Robin Williams) complements the core crux of Spacey's character, especially Dallas Roberts' Patrick, an eccentric agent.

As the film plays out, it seems as though it will have a hard time wrapping up all of the sub- plots in introduces, as the list of important characters is relatively long. Unfortunately, that seems to be the case and is perhaps the only noteworthy flaw of 'Shrink' (a big flaw, however).

That said, even if you walk out wanting a little more from one or more characters, you'll still walk about thinking about them all, as each is memorable in his or her humanity.

The New York Times review suggests that some of the characters are a little too "sketchy" and the plot somewhat "contrived," but with a lot of films, those criticisms are a little misleading. To vehemently endorse realism is to take away from what makes these characters so relatable. If some character skeletons have become cliché, it's because audiences connect with those clichés. And, at the end of the day, while 'Shrink' is probably a more than slightly inaccurate portrayal of the world and characters it presents, that inaccuracy doesn't matter when you empathize with those characters.

Watch Orphan (2009) Full Movie Divx

Orphan REALLY surprised me. I expected some stupid pg-13 movie that somehow got an R rating. That was not the case. Let me tell you, Orphan is very disturbing at parts, and pretty gruesome. The movie overall is excellent, has some great acting, an amazing script, and excellent execution. The movie really has a lot of suspense and the twist is pulled off very well and packs a big punch to the viewer.

The best thing the film has is the script. What Esther does to the family is brilliant. The movie also has several sub-plots that work very well in the movie and add some complexity to the whole thing. The sub-plots never feel like too much, because they are very subtly put in there.

Overall, if you are tired of bad horror films, and want to see a very intelligent and well made film, i would suggest this. Or if you just want to see a great movie see this! I was very surprised at how excellent this movie turned out, and everyone else will be too! Seriously, if you want great, check it out! 9.5/10

Watch The Ugly Truth (2009) Full Movie Online

I saw this movie at a preview event last Friday night and it was hilarious. The sold out cinema was laughing hysterically throughout the movie. The movie is fast paced and does not drag. The comedy is "r" rated with a little raunchy adult humor that can be shocking at times but that is in line with the movies theme of male/female relationships.

Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler were both great in the film. Not a role that you would expect to see the King of Sparta, but Butler has great comedic timing complimenting his tough guy persona. And Katherine Heigl is once again perfect doing comedy.

If you are expecting to see a typical romantic comedy you will be surprised, because this R rated film is geared toward the men in the audience as well as the ladies. Grab your significant other and be prepared to laugh and enjoy the movie together.

Watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

I realize that this movie was sometimes hard to follow, and I think the romance parts may have been slightly unnecessary at parts; in reality, they weren't. There was so much going on that those parts were there just for a little breather to sit back and absorb all the information that was just tossed in your face. There was a perfect blend of action, romance, and comedy in it. If there was any more of any genre in there, the movie may have been too overloaded with stuff. The mix was absolutely flawless and was a beautiful piece of writing by those who created the screenplay. I recommend a second viewing for people who didn't understand it or thought it was bad, you may be fonder of it the next time around.

Watch Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

Ice age 3 was really funny and it stays true to the series. Same old characters, a whole new adventure that everyone at any age can enjoy.

I saw the critics and I thought to my self that it would be good, but I didn't expect much, but I really did enjoy it more than I thought. It may not be the best compared to the other Ice Age films, but it still a great thrill ride that the audience can enjoy.

And if you find a theater near you that has it in digital 3D, go and watch it in 3D, because the action and adventure will excite you even more than it actually does.

Normally people think since it's a third part, then the movie won't be that great, but hear me when I say that keep that thought out of your mind and parents, take your kids with you, they are sure to leave with a smile and a long lasting excitement for more.

Watch Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

I went to see this Harry Potter all excited even though I referred to the book as a Star Wars Three Book (in effect you have to do a bunch of horrible things to setup the next story such as sending Yoda into exile, obiwan to just watch over Luke etc.).

This movie more than anything else destroyed the concept that this movie had one major job! Setup Harry Potter Seven.

If you read the book and how Harry lost control of the Quiddich team to one player how do you expect Harry to be able to take on Voldermont? No problem. The movie ignored that!

If you're ready for the big confrontation when Harry leaves his muggle house next year no problem since the movie ignored having that be setup!

If you want to know the magnitude of the challenge that Harry has you have to have some sort of secret briefing since the movie ignored telling all the details.

If you want to know that Dumbdorf had his actions planned because he knew he was going to die I must have fell asleep during the movie because I didn't remember it made clear.

I can go on, but there are still some people who haven't seen the movie yet that there are going to be very disappointed. Especially with the totally unprofessional script of this allegled writer of the movie adaptation. Rowling should file a lawsuit with Time Warner with how her story was destroyed.

Watch Public Enemies (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

One of the things we miss in our gangster movies is the sense of the time. We (Americans) came very, very close to a socialist state because of widespread frustration at the undeserving aristocracy. It had only been 15 years since a similar frustration in Russia exploded. In the depression, the rich got richer and everyone else suffered, some profoundly so. Robbing banks was simply a small payback and Dillinger was among several folk heroes.

The FBI then and to some extent now, were seen as thugs hired to protect the moneyed interests. They would be brutal, using intimidation, violence and extralegal means at will. The film captures little of this context, instead focuses on fine tailoring and reflections in perfectly polished getaway cars. I think Mann was constrained by the script and had only two ways of building a film. One was simply to apply style, which is done here well enough if in ordinary ways.

The other makes the experience worthwhile for me. For many filmmakers, it is not whether your film engages from beginning to end, because largely your audience is stuck. So long as you keep then busy, you can concentrate all your film-making in the end. Few films end competently anyway, so if you have your audience pleased as they walk out, you've won.

The last three scenes matter. They affected me.

The first has our hero sitting in a theater watching a gangster movie, pleased, using it to design and reinforce his own story. Previously, we had him and gang in a similar moviehouse where an on screen FBI spokesmen tells the audience that Dillinger and gang are likely in the audience. This was an very effective setup for this later scene. Depp, who has merely walked through the thing until this point, gives us a powerful internal dynamic.

The next scene is him leaving the theater and being killed. First he stares down a spineless FBI thug, who we had previous seen brutalize Dillingers girlfriend. Then, the killing. This one scene is cinematically perfect, I think. It will likely be something I will recall for a long time, everything effectively and unexpectedly choreographed — unexpectedly because all until then had been ordinary. The final scene is a sort of epilogue, the honorable FBI agent reporting to the now imprisoned girlfriend fictional words from the dying gangster that bore into her heart.

This also works. Quiet. Effective. Direct, with no apparent cinematic devices. It erases the flash we had seen only seconds before, carrying the emotion into something so human it hurts to even recall. And isn't that fine film-making?

I liked borat. Who didn't? It was a fresh and inventive comedy with lots of balls (ummm yeah) and a lot of brains. I must say that Bruno topped Borat in every way (except the reverse cowgirl sense of the word... okay yes even in that sense). Literally this film made me laugh non stop, both in joy and pain. Every seen, every interview, every crazy stunt has its importance in hilarity and morality (thats right i said morality, OK no more parenthesis). This movie made me gain a lot of respect for Sacha as an artist and idealist, borat was good but this was great. I've never seen anyone so willing and devoted to and idea that he literally just goes out and does it. As outrageous and shocking as it gets in Bruno its still inspiring to see such originality and bravery in film making. I hope people go into this with an open mind and I believe they will be pleasantly surprised how entertaining it is when you just let go of what you think you know and go along for the ride.

Watch (500) Days of Summer Full Movie Online For Free

This is the story of boy meets girl, but it is not a love story that will unfurl. Instead a story about loves reactions, caused by two peoples juvenile actions

A little rhyme I wrote in honor of this years funniest and most delightful film. In January 2009 I was able to attend the Sundance Film Festival where I viewed a number of superb movies but none so genius as this one. Unable to buy or book any tickets for the original showings I sadly set my thoughts on other films, till the last day. I had changed plans and went to the ticket office to exchange one movie ticket for another. It was then that I discovered they planned to screen another showing of 500 Days of Summer, due to such immense popularity. Immediately getting a ticket I found myself in the theater a few hours after awaiting with batted breath. I looked around me and watched as Joseph Gorden Levitt took a seat in the row behind, smiling and shaking hands with a number of fans. Although I too was a great fan I couldn't bring myself to go over there, instead I stayed in my seat and the movie was started.

An hour and a half later, I was standing up and applauding for all I was worth. In fact the whole cinema was, with every single audience member whistling, clapping and laughing at the brilliance of it all. Then Joseph Gorden Levitt, (the only cast member of the film who showed) got up on stage and started answering questions. Bubbling with enthusiasm he jumped around, laughing and yelling and keeping the lot of us entertained. He answered the straight questions with straight answers and the silly questions with straight out of hell silly answers. And at the end ran up and down the stage filming us all with a camcorder, saying he'd remember the day forever, I sure do.

Then he went back to his seat and as everyone exited the cinema I swallowed my pride, walked up and shook his hand saying, "Amazing performance, you're an inspiration." Then it was over, I found myself being shuffled with the crowd out of the theater and into the cold outside. But even though I was in a sweatshirt, I couldn't feel a thing, being instead caught up in the entertainment and thoughts of a vibrant funny film.

A film that scores high in all the boxes and one I will certainly see again.

Year One (2009) Full Movie HD

I will start out by saying I was very excited about this film and thought surely with a cast as comedy-star studded as this it was going to be a fun summer film to unwind with...I was dead wrong. This is a textbook case of a film's funniest moments being shown in the trailer, the juvenile, brainless toilet humor (literally as in one scene where Jack Black's character eats a piece of bear crap) proved to be flat and boring. I was in a theater with a majority of junior high students (who seemed to be the target audience for this film) and the theater was silent throughout the first 35 minutes of the film. There was no chemistry between the characters, the "funny" moments felt awkward and forced and completely unoriginal. Michael Cera's character had a few mildly amusing lines, but Jack Black's usually oafish, raunchy wit seemed to not blend well at all with his character. The direction was very poor in what could have been a good summer comedy. I left the film after the first 40 or so minutes after an austin power's influenced Cain and Able scene. Don't waste your time with this one folks.

The Proposal (2009) Full Movie Online Divx

We went into this movie more or less out of despair; the cinema offerings seemed uniformly lousy and we simply wanted to see a movie that looked like fun. This one looked stupid: I'd seen Betty White promoting the movie on Jimmy Fallon's show and the scene shown was idiotic, though it did have a couple of amusing lines. Well, we were all pleasantly surprised. The outcome of the plot might be predictable, but the road getting there is surprisingly sharp and entertaining. There are quite a few witty lines and exchanges, and the delivery and timing of the two stars and, of course, of Betty White are just about perfect. Both of the lead characters have surprises in their backgrounds to reveal, and the settings are beautiful. There are one or two scenes that are clunkers, but even the dopey episode with White's Grandma Annie doing a ritualistic dance in the woods ends up having some relevance to a later plot event. The movie is well thought-out and well executed, and the actors create characters who engage us, even if we don't know anyone quite like them in our own lives.

If you like the tried-and-true formula of Woody Allen's movies, such as the pessimism, the sense of persecution, the "nobody understands the way life works, except me" point of view, then you will feel right at home with this movie, which may be seen as an extension of the HBO Larry David show. There are some funny, insightful and inspired comments throughout the movie, variations of the lines found in most of the post-Annie Hall films Woody Allen has made. This movie will have a very limited audience, will be popular in only a few select markets, and mildly amusing, or confusing in most of the rest of the country. The acting is excellent, the actors were very well cast, all of this making it look as if these actors are part of a long term ensemble.

Food, Inc. (2008) Dvdrip Full Movie Online HQ

I went into this hoping to learn some shocking secret to the food industry that would change my mind about what I ate. Instead, I got a lightweight group of shots of corporate buildings or industrial production that did not expose anything. Yes, it's true, there are large processing companies that process a lot of food. So what??? The suggestion here is that because they are big, something evil must be lurking behind those doors. But no such evidence is provided. The worst they could come up with were subtitles that said "such and such a company refused to grant us an interview!" Wooooooooo! How incriminating. The fact is, there is no real shocking truth revealed by this film about the food industry. In fact, there own arguments support the processors. For example, they site the well known instance a couple decades ago about the child that died from a Jack In The Box hamburger. One instance. Given the billions of portions of beef served since then, and not another instance of this has occurred, I would argue the food industry has done a great job of containing that risk. Additionally, they clearly hide facts about the Monsanto case, showing selected single sided arguments, without allowing Monsanto to voice their side of the story. They attempt to make a farmer who was being prosecuted by Monsanto look like a victim, showing only selected clips of his testimony in court, and not Monsanto's side. I'd expect at least to let them speak and tear them apart if they didn't have a point, but to exclude the other sides perspective makes the whole movie seem like a charade. At the end, all I learned was that big companies control the processing and feed animals a lot of corn. I'm one of them, because I enjoyed my popcorn throughout this movie, but not the fact that I spent $13 to see it. A waste of time.

Dead Snow 2009 Full Movie Divx

Wirkola surely spent time studying the genre of zombie movies thoroughly before setting to work on "Død Snø", paying endless tributes to the great classics of the genre throughout the movie, before grabbing it and tossing it over the top and into a strange land beyond.

The movie has so many things speaking in favor of it. It has a well thought-out plot, it has all the wonderful stereotypes of a horror movie in place, and more than anything, it follows the rules of the genre to the note.

From the barely glimpse horror in the early phases, to the ominous messenger who lays the groundwork for the story, to the stalking danger in the dark, and all the way to the outright shotgun-and-chainsaw last stand, Wirkola hardly hits a single note wrong.

If the region of Finnmark should have one national-romantic epic to its name, it should be this movie.

This movie is simply a must-see for the zombie affectionate!

Watch Tetro (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

I knew nothing about this film but went along to a private screening at Cannes just last week.

I wasn't sure whether the black and white was going to last much past the opening scenes, it did, and I feel it really helped this film portray the contrast and the depression felt by the main character Tetro.

The film slowly unravelled slowly, providing just enough snippets of the bigger underlying story obviously hidden away in the past of the 2 brothers to keep you engaged. Played out against the backdrop of modern day Argentina (it wasn't obvious when the period was until we get a glimpse of a modern day car about 25 minutes in) We have Bennie the young brother, visiting his manic depressive prospect playwright brother and catching up on lost time together. However it's evident from the start that the older brother, Tetro does not want to rekindle any family ties for reasons that unfold during the film.

Bennie discovers the latent stories written by Tetro and attempts to finish them in order for Tetro to be recognised for his brilliance, something Tetro himself seems unwilling to do.

I love what Coppola has done here, I loved the character and the vibe he set, particularly the little village theatre where Tetro worked and where we see a gaudy and low budget production of Faust being performed. We revisit this theatre for Bennie/Tetro's first play which doesn't go well! The underlying story is all about the father of the brothers, a top orchestral conductor who jumped on his far more talented brothers back (Tetro's uncle)to become the most renown conductor in New York. What then follows is his megalomaniacal fathers disregard of his son and subsequent stealing of his sweetheart. Coupled with the fact that Tetro was then responsible for his mothers death in a car crash and his father never forgave him and you have the perfect recipe for the depressive abyss that Tetro finds himself in at the start of the film where we come in.

We see some beautiful flashback sequences, in colour to provide the contrast to Tetro's mood, of past events but done in a theatrical almost ballet style. The ones toward the end of the film are nothing short of exquisite and really hammer home the depth of feeling.

The climax sees Bennie and Tetro finally rewarded by their peers at the regional arts festival for their joint work but also forced to face up to the ultimate family secret, one which I shan't give away here! The signs for a big twist are apparent but exactly what that is may be narrowed down but not apparent until it occurs in my opinion.

The actor who plays young Bennie has DeCaprio overtones and does bear a physical resemblance, Gallo as Tetro is menacing yet feeble behind his fake facade. Tetro's wife provided a perfect go between for the main characters, not to mention turning in a brilliant performance! Jose the cafe owner provides comic relief and 'Alone', the theatre critic is the spectre of potential humiliation and failure that Tetro must overcome and convince of his genius.

I loved this film and only gave it a 7 for the predictable ending which was a bit over dramatic and clichéd for what was otherwise a well acted and nicely designed bit of cinema. The story is rich and the scenery and sets are brilliant, particularly the Patagonian mountains.
