Watch The Soloist (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

First off, I should say that I am personally familiar with this story, having worked in downtown L.A. for the last 19 years and seeing Mr Ayers and his cello many a time around 3rd and Hill Sts. I've also read Lopez's columns in the Times for years and followed this one with interest and satisfaction. Making a film about a tale like this restores my belief in Hollywood beyond the mindless bunk it churns out year after year.

Downey Jr and Foxx play a newspaper columnist and homeless man who come together in a most unusual way. Downey is a newspaper columnist looking for something original and interesting to write about it. He finds it when he sees Foxx beautifully playing battered stringed instruments along 3rd street in downtown L.A. Foxx has been there for years but on this day grabs the eye of the columnist because the columnist himself is experiencing hardship and doubt related to his own position. He begins to write about this talented but troubled man who fills the stinky air around him with harmony. They become friends but keep in mind this is not fiction. The friendship hits many bumps that continue to this day. Nathaniel Ayers (Foxx's character) may be a brilliant, educated musician, but he suffers from bouts of schizophrenia that manifest at any time. Downey's character accepts this as it adds more intrigue to his columns. Then he accepts it on a personal level. Their friendship ultimately becomes real and meaningful. You sense that Downey's character needs the friendship even more than Foxx's homeless man does. In the end, Downey's Lopez can see the positive effect his work has brought to the plight of the homeless, yet he wonders personally how much better he has made Nathaniel...? His reflections make us think also.

Downey Jr and Foxx play their characters to near perfection and the film masterfully takes its time in developing the relationship between the two. Great to see director Joe Wright telling a contemporary tale just as effectively as he has in previous works. The film makes us wonder how many other Nathaniel Ayers are lurking out there on the streets? Life being what it is, of course we will never know. The beauty of the film is that is shows what can happen when just one Nathaniel Ayers is found after being lost for so many years. There's no sugarcoating; Ayers doesn't magically get better and rejoin mainstream society. Instead, the mainstream accepts him for what he is and what he offers and begins integrating him as best it can. This film will certainly pop up at award time next year.

Watch Fighting (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

Fighting capitalizes on the basic entertainment value derived from audiences' desire to see an underdog rise from the ashes and emerge victorious. Upon closer inspection our protagonist proves not to be much of an underdog, but at least his battles against adversity and increasingly stronger opponents come with several camera tricks and creative sound effects to emphasize a high level of intensity and brutality even without the appropriate amount of bloodletting. Channing Tatum convincingly plays the unrefined and uneducated Southern fighter while Terrence Howard mimics a more iconic hustler, and while the film succeeds in the thrills of ruthless street fighting, it sadly falters in the original story department.

Young Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum) is reduced to selling bootlegs on the streets to survive in his newfound home of New York City. But his situation quickly changes when he meets hustler and con man Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard), who introduces him to the dangerous and highly profitable world of underground street fighting. As he rapidly rises to the top, Shawn's unwavering code of honor and his troubled past will find him in the match of his life - and a fight for it.

Terrence Howard will likely receive plenty of praise for his role as a good-intentioned hustler, even though it almost completely duplicates Dustin Hoffman's famous turn as "Ratso" Rizzo. And as he helps the down-on-his-luck, fish-out-of-water counterfeiter succeed in underground fighting (initially swindling him, then offering a place to stay), it's difficult not to compare this film's plot to Midnight Cowboy with an anti-Rocky lead (complete with a very brief training montage on a subway), minus the aforementioned films' flawless execution.

When Shawn is most in need of money, he still insists upon his code of honor and refuses to throw a match. This is utterly ridiculous considering his reason for fighting and the fact that the fights themselves are "anything goes." Where's the honor in that? Apparently the trophy for integrity outweighs the desire for food and shelter, especially for someone content with living like a derelict.

At least there's humor found in desperation, and comic relief in the quagmire of hustling taking place. The laughably bad supporting villains and perfectly cliché main rival don't help Fighting with the sense of distinction so desperately needed after swallowing the simplicity of the title. And when the first two fights establish that skills are pointless in the face of an unruly free-for-all, it's even more difficult to care whether or not Shawn sticks to his principles, wins the girl, gains respect amongst his friends, or defeats his nemesis - all formulaically in that order.

Watch State of Play (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

Congressman Stephen Collins (Ben Affleck) is helping with the government investigation of a shady military-based company when he receives word that his mistress has committed suicide. Visually distraught, he leaves a hearing in tears and sets off a media circus. Seasoned reporter Cal McAffrey (Russell Crowe) was his roommate in college, and the two have remained friends. In a bid to quash the political blogging of junior reporter Della Frye (Rachel McAdams), McAffrey sets out to find the truth about the story.

State of Play sets itself up early on to be a cookie-cutter, predictable thriller. But as the film progresses, it rather quickly becomes the twisty and conniving thriller it needs to be. Despite being heavily dialogue driven, the film is an intense ride that will keep people on edge throughout. Some scenes are downright terrifying in their amped up suspense and political intrigue. This film really set out to be tense, and succeeds wonderfully. It knows just what punches to pull, and when to pull them.

The script, written by political scribes Matthew Michael Carnahan, Tony Gilory and Billy Ray, is insight and intriguing. It could have easily been made boring and inundated with rehashed politicalisms (like all of their last films), but this film revels in how interesting it becomes. It has laughs strung throughout (a genuine surprise), and lacks the nerve to become loaded to the brim with facts and innuendos. Instead, it expertly weaves between scenes, amping up the intensity of some scenes, and downplaying others.

But this is mainly due to the incredible performances by the cast. Crowe (who I usually loathe) and Affleck are simply outstanding in their roles. Age issues aside, both play their character with finesse and charisma. Affleck looks and acts like a confused wet-behind-the-ears, gunning-for-higher-office political pawn from beginning to end. Some of the reactions on his face are downright devastating in how excellently they are conveyed. And this is a guy critics once said could not act. Coupled with one-two shot of acting in Hollywoodland and directing Gone Baby Gone, we may be seeing a renewed resonance and importance for the Oscar-winner. Crowe on the other hand, delivers his strongest performance in years. While he has been downplayed and underused in his last few films, he carries this film. He is stubborn and vaguely likable, but he makes his character work for all of his idiosyncrasies and ethically-questionable tactics. He makes a seasoned journalist look like an amateur.

McAdams, all but a ghost recently, holds her own against the two heavy-hitters and delivers a performance that is both inspired and emotional. It gives her a lot of room to act, and she delivers in every instance. The rest of the cast is a bit mixed however, as so little of them is given that much to do. Harry Lennix, Robin Wright Penn, Jeff Daniels, the horrifying Michael Berresse and especially Jason Bateman, all deliver noteworthy performances, but never get to really shine in them. They all have their traits and motivations, but get little screen time to truly express them. They each are developed quite strongly, but they lack the movement afforded to Crowe, Affleck and McAdams. I simply loved Helen Mirren's scenery-gauging editor and all of her subtleties. But she too, is downplayed to the point of almost barely being in the film.

Well, the above reviewer beat me to my warning: If you are some god forsaken film student, or "Hollywood" film buff, you will hate this film. The structure is open and allows for a great deal on viewer interpretation that most US film goers hate, and even fear. But I love, I love the director giving me images and direction, and then letting fill in some inferences and this not clearly delineated.

The film makes excellent cinematic use of cultural and social cyphers, and (I hate to say this almost for fear of "tainting" it; a slight magical realism to cast a wide net of meaning, not to tell some stupid plot arc formula. It is a brilliant, exciting, deeply satisfying movie (finally some one is talking abt these issues cinematically, and making a great movie), and I even found it fun. A well crafted daring film.

I saw "A Chorus Line" on Broadway in the early 80's and didn't like the play. The movie, with Michael Douglas, is terrible. However, being a Cinophile, I was interested in seeing a film about the trials and tribulations of performers auditioning for a part.

The film had a good balance of the history of the play, the past performers and performances, and the new hopefuls. It was interesting to see that the audition process, with callbacks, went on for months. From the start, you can see the long odds against a performer being chosen. Three thousand people competing for thirty opportunities.

I laughed, cried, cheered, and felt the heartache of those who pursued their dreams. Happily, I would see the film again.

Firstly, I'm a teenager, and I can guess what you're thinking (because I'm psychic), okay i'm not psychic, but you're thinking i went to go see it because of the ZAC EFRON craze.

Ha ha. I went to go see it because of Matthew Perry. I've loved him since F.R.I.E.N.D.S. and I think he's awesome.

Honestly, (sorry Zac), but I went into the cinema with low hopes simply because Zac Efron was in it. I hated High School Musical (I use to babysit, and the little girls I babysat loved the first and second one... oh dear!). Thank Goodness, I actually realised that, above and beyond all the hype on his 'Disney Charm', he can actually act. (As seen in 17 Again).

I think Matthew Perry was great in it, as was Michelle Trachtenberg (Gossip Girl), and Leslie Mann.

I still think that Zac Efron has quite a bit to do to totally diminish his Disney effect, but after 17 again, my personal opinions have changed about him.

I suggest you go see it, whatever age. Humour, interest, and just an all-round enjoyable flick.

Watch Crank: High Voltage (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

Let me start off by defending my rating of this title. Really it's hard for me to rate a movie like this, it is directed right at me and my type of people. I can't help it that I like a movie like this, it's just the way it is.

Really this movie is a grind house movie in an era where grind house movies don't exist. It has everything that is unacceptable as entertainment in other movies...and yet you can't stop watching. It's for the most part, balls to the walls, insanity. It doesn't make sense. The reason I don't' mind...is that it's not trying to. It knows it's stupid and crazy. And it loves it. It's not trying to impress you. This is a movie that really took control of itself. Typically you'll have a movie with an a-b formula...this is a a-z formula with complete insanity and randomness filling in the interval. You know where the movie is going as soon as you start watching it, it's the ride that excites and keeps you watching.

In short, this movie has violence, action, nudity, homosexuality, disabilities, public indecency and racism. And I have to admit, I liked it.

The one problem I had with this movie is it started so crazy and hilarious that it kind of peaked in the middle. It was just so much that the rest didn't surprise you anymore. I still found it very enjoyable though, and would definitely add it to my collection.

Also I know this review sucks, but this movie is hard to give a serious review to. If you like movies that play out like a GTA video game mixed with a violent Japanese film...then watch it. Just have fun with it.

Watch He’s Just Not That Into You (2009) DVDrip Full Movie Online For Free

My girlfriend and I, both at or approaching our 50's, saw this in a theater that was absolutely filled with high school girls. That surprised me actually, given that most of the stars in this film are well-beyond high-school age. But they, like the rest of the audience, seemed to really enjoy this film, as did we. The relationships were nicely intertwined without being contrived ("Crash" anyone?), and unlike the similar movie "Love Actually," nothing portrayed was too outlandish. The convention of adding comments by "real" people to introduce story lines was well done and amusing. If I find any fault with the film, it's that all of the guys are presented as having relationship "issues" or as being total bone-heads. Hopefully there are more "nice guys" interspersed in society than what this film might lead you to believe (though I must say that the attitudes presented are definitely not inaccurate).

Overall, a very nice film whose 2 hour plus running time goes by rather quickly. If you've ever been in or tried to be in a relationship, you'll probably enjoy this movie.

Watch Friday the 13th (2009) DVDrip Full Movie Online For Free

Friday the 13th has an incredibly powerful first 15-20 minutes. It really kicks off with a bang. Jason is back better than ever. Then something goes fractionally wrong and we fall back into old territory. Everything becomes a bit too familiar. Still, it does better than most horror films in the sense that it really doesn't become too tedious until the last 10 minutes or so.

The main characters are strong in their performance without being memorable. The cameos are the real scene stealers including a gas station attendant and a man named Donnie. A lot of the jokes from all concerned really hit the mark though and are a nice touch to the film.

The Friday the 13th remake is what it is and at the end of the day probably all that could realistically have been hoped for. It won't decrease the seemingly ever growing hate of remakes, but it certainly won't add to it either and that in itself is an achievement.

Usually I am very critical of films, especially today's works. However, I can't be too hard on this one. It was somewhat enjoyable and a reasonable escape from reality.

The biggest problem with "Push" is that it rips off everything from "Blade Runner" to "Heroes," "4400," "Star Wars" and the likes. Mostly though, this film is Stephen King's "Fire Starter" in a whole new wrapper with some new and improved effects.

The concept has undoubtedly been realized before. The plot is fair to put it best, and the characters are for the most part - likable and interesting. The effects are pretty good too. Sadly, the story is a little weak, but not terrible.

For a pass time and some popcorn, the film is favorable. But, there probably won't be any awards won here. If you are really critical about movies and how you spend your money, you may wish to wait for DVD. Otherwise, if you just need something to do and you want to waste some time in fantasy land, check it out at the theaters.

When Langdon discovers evidence of the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati - the most powerful underground organization in history - he also faces a deadly threat to the existence of the secret organization's most despised enemy: the Catholic Church. When Langdon learns that the clock is ticking on an unstoppable Illuminati time bomb, he jets to Rome, where he joins forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and enigmatic Italian scientist. Embarking on a nonstop, action-packed hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and even to the heart of the most secretive vault on earth, Langdon and Vetra will follow a 400-year-old trail of ancient symbols that mark the Vatican's only hope for survival.

Angels and Demons was the reclusive authors third novel after he gave up his job as an English teacher. It tells the story of Langdons brush with a shadowy secret society, the Illuminati, and his frantic quest for the worlds most powerful energy source, in the company of a beautiful Italian physicist whose father, a brilliant physicist, has been murdered.

The team behind the global phenomenon "The Da Vinci Code" returns for the highly anticipated "Angels & Demons," based upon the bestselling novel by Dan Brown. Tom Hanks reprises his role as Harvard religious expert Robert Langdon, who once again finds that forces with ancient roots are willing to stop at nothing, even murder, to advance their goals. Ron Howard again directs the film, which is produced by Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, and John Calley. The screenplay is by David Koepp and Akiva Goldsman.

Watch The Mysteries of Pittsburgh (2008) Divx Full Movie Online For Free

I am quite a fan of novelist/screenwriter Michael Chabon. His novel "Wonder Boys" became a fantastic movie by Curtis Hanson. His masterful novel "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay" won the Pulitzer Prize a few years back, and he had a hand in the script of "Spider Man 2", arguably the greatest comic book movie of all time.

Director Rawson Marshall Thurber has also directed wonderful comedic pieces, such as the gut-busting "Dodgeball" and the genius short film series "Terry Tate: Office Linebacker". And with a cast including Peter Saarsgard, Sienna Miller, Nick Nolte and Mena Suvari, this seems like a no-brainer.

It is. Literally.

Jon Foster stars as Art Bechstein, the son of a mobster (Nolte) who recently graduated with a degree in Economics. Jon is in a state of arrested development: he works a minimum wage job at Book Barn, has a vapid relationship with his girlfriend/boss, Phlox (Suvari), which amounts to little more than copious amounts of sex, with no plans other than to chip away at a career for which he has zero passion.

One night at a party, an ex-roommate introduces Jon to Jane (Miller), a beautiful, smart violinist. Later that night they go out for pie, and she asks Jon a question that begins to shake him from his catatonic state of existence, "I want you to tell me something that you have never told a single soul. If you do, it will make this night indelible." Jon then tells her a reoccurring dream of his in which he wanders about town looking at the faces of strangers passing him by, yet none of them look him in the eye. "I imagine it must be what death feels like," he says.

The next day Jane's wild boyfriend Cleveland (Saarsgard) kidnaps Jon from work and takes him out to a hulking abandoned steel mill, and soon Jon, Cleveland and Jane are spending every waking moment together going to punk rock concerts, doing drugs and drinking lots of alcohol. This doesn't sit well with Phlox, who pushes Jon for a more personal relationship, namely letting her meet his new friends and his father. The film then attempts to take us on Jon's journey as he shakes off the shackles imposed on him by his father, Phlox and his dead-end job as he finds freedom and expression through his relationships with Cleveland and Jane.

There is a problem having us follow Jon throughout the film: he's completely uninteresting. He has no ambitions, passions or goals. He walks through life like the invisible wraith he described to Jane the night they met. At the outset this isn't a problem. But he never gets any more interesting. He's a completely passive character. He simply follows along the bohemian Cleveland and Jane, but he never once gives us any inkling as to what he cares about or wants to to do with himself.

Consequently, the film and its supporting characters have nowhere to go and little to do other than party, have sex and get in arguments. In other words, much ado about nothing. What we have here is the shallow skin of a good movie without anything on the inside. Sweeping cinematography, ponderous voice-over with characters staring off into the distance, lots of sex scenes both straight and gay, big arguments, more angry sex, a chase scene and a tragic death... but it doesn't seem to matter. Ironically, at one point Jane, confused at a number of Jon's aimless actions, asks him, "What's going on, Jon? What is this all about?" Yes, Jon, do tell. We in the audience are dying to know, too.

The title "The Mysteries of Pittsburgh" must refer to the characters themselves, because that's what they are. They are all facades, one-dimensional stand-ins for actual people. The film never lets us in. We never know what makes any of them tick. We see them do lots of things, but we don't know why. And the absence of "why" is one of the worst things a movie can have.

Watch Bride Wars (2009) Online Free,part1/13,full

Honestly, how many angry bride movies can Hollywood come out with? I thought 27 Dresses had a pretty good plot, even though it was way way way predictable, the characters were likable and different. There were no strip club bachelor/bachelorette parties, no fights that left you hating both of the women in the movie, and some pretty good acting. However,in Bride Wars, Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway have reached a low point in their career, dreadfully overacting and dramatizing every little detail to the point of me losing interest. The three male leads were decent, but for the most part, left a lot to be desired. Their characters were somewhat shallow, possibly due to a predictable and weak screenplay and script. This reminded me too much of all the bride movies and over-hyped chick flicks of the past. When will Hollywood come out with another Notebook romance?

In 2004, the redneck managers of the Meadow View Motel Gordon (David Moscow) and Reece (Brian Klugman) use room 6 to videotape the intimacy of the guests to sell porn movies. When the mysterious Mr. Smith (Scott G. Anderson) checks in with a young woman, they witness the sadistic psychopath guest stabbing and killing his mate. The footage is a success and they decide to make other snuff movies with Smith. When Caleb (Trevor Wright), who is traveling from Chicago with his fiancée Jessica (Agnes Bruckner) and his best friend Tanner (Arjay Smith), decides to rest in Meadow View, they have a nightmarish night and try to survive from the sick intention of the gang.

The underrated "Vacancy 2: The First Cut" is a decent prequel to the original "Vacancy" (which is also a reasonable movie, nothing more than that). There are some stupid scenes, like for example Jessica beating on the window instead of escaping; or the attitude of Tanner in the house of Otis and Doris; or the conclusion with the police finding no evidence of the murders; but the final result is not bad or mediocre like mentioned in some reviews. The screenplay and the story could be better but work on DVD. My vote is six.

I wanted support the movie because I am a big fan of T.D. Jakes' works. I went with a sibling who was also skeptical about the film because of the lack of buzz around it. To sum up our experience, we were SO GLAD that we went to view it last night. We thoroughly enjoyed the film as did the rest of the audience. We are still talking about it.

Morris Chestnut and Taraji Henson did a great job with their roles. I highly recommend the movie for couples, singles, divorcées, and etc. as the movie makes points about relationships that everyone can relate to on some level - yet without beating you over the head.

Do not go by the reviews, go and see this movie for yourself - you will not be disappointed!

Watch Sunshine Cleaning (2008) Full Movie Online For Free

'Sunshine Cleaning' has many premises to be a different kind of film. The story is quite unusual including a mix of black humor and family comedy, of childhood trauma and post college social comment, or next door and weird characters in a beautiful and typical American surrounding on the fringe of the desert, which can be as boring as it gets or as uneasy as you cannot take it. The re-use of the 'sunshine' brand by the producer of 'Ms. Sunshine' is also a nice idea, hinting to a cycle of a 'slightly nonfunctional families in slightly nonfunctional America' movies. Promising.

Yet, it was me who was slightly disappointed. The mix works only at certain moments, but not as a whole. It may be the lack of courage of director Christine Jeffs who having dared in previous endeavors especially in 'Sylvia' but not reached the success that she may have expected is now trying a much more beaten path. It's a pity, as the material she worked from was worth a more courageous approach. What we get is a film that avoids shocking, with none of several promising threads being investigated in depth, where the strong light of the American South-West is too warm and friendly, and where good actresses like Amy Adams and Emily Blunt are told to act nicely failing to consume the promise of a killing black comedy female couple, something we have not seen for ages on screen if ever. The balance of feel-good vs. feel-bad lends too much on the conventional feel-good side.

If it dared 'Sunshine Cleaning' could have been a much better film.

I am so happy I did not have to pay hard earned money for this terrible piece of crap. What were they thinking. Pulling Ashton out of his comedy comfort zone and thrusting him in to a drama, he is not qualified for. He simply doesn't have the acting chops. Poor Michelle. What in the name of God was she doing in this movie. She tries but the dialogue is beyond hope. People don't don't talk that way.

Furthermore blank stares are a not subplot. There is so little to this movie to begin with I am shocked it was green lighted at all. A wafer-thin idea performed by a model turned actor directed by a writer with two TV writing credits to his name. Bad idea from the start.

Originally this movie was to be released at Christmas time 2009. Okay. Instead it is going straight to DVD this coming May (next month) Folks there are good reasons, most of the time, that films go that route. Because they stink.

Kathy Bates is on board too but the only actor that does not suffer is Spencer Hudson who is the brightest spot on the screen.

Disappointing adaptation of Art Linson's book about a major Hollywood producer (Robert DeNiro) who finds his world both personally and professionally falling apart in the matter of one week. His latest finished film has the director butting heads with the studio over the ending and his upcoming picture is on the rocks because its star Bruce Willis wants to have a beard. The producer then finds out that his ex-wife (Robin Wright Penn) might be having an affair with his screenwriter (Stanley Tucci). You know, if you're going to make a satire about Hollywood then it might be a good idea to put in some humor. If you're going to make a hard edged film about Hollywood then it might be a good idea to put in some edge. This film comes off as a major disappointment considering the source material, the director and the all-star cast they lined up to do the film. Not only do we get DeNiro turning in a very good performance but we get a fun cameo by Sean Penn as well as nice supporting work by Tucci, Penn and John Turturro. The main reason for folks to see this picture would be for the performance by DeNiro who after years of so-so work actually manages to pull off a pretty good comeback. It's just a shame to see it wasted in such a bland movie. I think every bit of the blame has to be thrown at Levinson and the screenplay. It's clear the director and writer had something to say about Hollywood but they rarely ever say anything. I was really shocked at how few laughs the movie had and it wasn't because they went for them and missed but instead they simply didn't go for them. We really don't get any major incites into Hollywood that we haven't seen before and the movie never really takes any punches either. There's the whole subplot about a director having his vision taken away by the studio yet the movie isn't critical of the studio. This movie really isn't critical about anything so in the end you have to wonder what the whole point was to begin with.

Well, so far "Madagascar" is two-for-two in the laughs department. This is just as good, if not better, than the first film.

It's another good example of the "new" (last 10 years) kind of animated feature film that adults can enjoy just as much as the kids. In some cases, perhaps like this one, adults would laugh even more because many of the gags might over the kids' heads. I'm not talking sexual innuendos, just references to things older people could recognize.

It isn't just the writing that is excellent; the artwork is spectacular, especially on Blu-Ray. The colors and the detail are just amazing! More than once, my jaw dropped at what I was seeing on the TV screen. Like the first Madagascar, the high-def images are truly spectacular.

The combination of humor, drama, family and friendship ties and romance all make this a wonderful animated movie and the 90 minutes zip

Director Ridley Scott's genius shines through what could have been another unpalatable, trite topic of the US' relations with the Middle East and terrorism. He expertly unravels the story of CIA operative Roger Ferris (Leonardo DiCaprio) who is assigned to flush out an evasive terrorist who is blowing up public places all over the world. Ferris is increasingly frustrated with his boss Ed Hoffman (Russell Crowe)'s impatience and double dealings, which more than once puts himself in jeopardy, challenges the trust he is trying to build with Jordanian leader Hani (Mark Strong) and his budding romance with the pretty Palestinian nurse Aisha (Golshifteh Farahani).

DiCaprio just keeps getting better and better as he is now more able to lose himself in a role and successfully shed the pretty. Crowe does well in an understated but dangerously quiet role as a Washington-based puppetmaster. The versatile Italian-Austrian Andy Garcia-lookalike Strong is fantastic as the powerful Hani, while Farahani's face lights up the screen and turns in a memorable performance as well.

The attention to detail in this movie is just awesome; the action sequences are not over the top but satisfactory enough to not lose the main storyline despite the complex thread of subplots. Overall, an engaging, intelligently-made film.

I agree with some of the previous reviewers - how can you rate a movie without even seeing it?!? Well, guess that gives us the right to rate THEM without even knowing them! I give those people a 1.5.

This is a KID'S movie and to rate it a 2 is ridiculous. It's not the best movie but it sure is much better than A LOT of recent kid's/animated films. My kids, 4 & 5, loved this movie and that's really my biggest requirement. There are many others where they were bored and wanted to leave in less than 30 minutes.

To the people voting it so low (especially ones who vote without viewing) - GET A LIFE!

Watch Milk (2008/I) (HQ) Full Movie Online For Free

It happened only 30 years ago but it looks and feels as if it had been much, much longer and yet we're still dealing with many of the same issues. Gus Van Sant moves slightly and respectfully to mainstream to tell us this inspiring and tragic story. Sean Penn is superb as Harvey Milk, none of the traits that made him famous are present here, other than his talent that is, he exudes a positive sweetness that is compelling and contagious. Josh Brolin as Dan White, manages the impossible by giving the assassin an unexpected but welcome humanity. James Franco as Milk's lover is, quite simply, scrumptious. As it happens with most biopics we're forced to run from event to event to be fair and accurate and "Milk" suffers from that. I wanted more insight into Diego Luna's character - the most problematic - and into Emile Hirsch's character but the essentials are here and the essentials must be listed in lyrical terms. History yes but also poetry. Hope as a theme. A triumph!

Watch The Unborn 2009 (HQ) Full Movie Online For Free

Well at least the trailer was scary, from the moment I saw the trailer for The Unborn I knew I wanted to see this movie, it looked so freaky and like the ultimate scare. So before it left theaters, I finally saw it and I should've realized, it's PG-13, how rare is it that we get a PG-13 horror movie that is actually scary? Sadly all the "intense" moments were shown in the trailer and I was extremely disappointed with this lousy movie. I couldn't believe how bad it was, it once again has every cliché in a horror film that you can imagine: the black best friend, the loving boyfriend, the hot skinny girl who is constantly in her underwear, the jumps, the mirrors, the nightmares, the over acting. I do have one question: did Gary Oldman owe someone a favor when he took this film? It's just mind-boggling, he's this terrific actor and he was in this really predictable stupid story? Well, hopefully he'll recover soon from this sad excuse for a horror film.

Casey Beldon is plagued by merciless dreams, visions of strange looking dogs, and an evil child with bright blue eyes. Casey is baby-sitting Matty, her neighbor's son. He is upstairs, supposedly taking a nap. Casey is downstairs talking on the phone to her best friend Romey. Suddenly, there is a voice that says "Jumby wants to be born now," on the baby monitor used for Matty's baby sister. After yelling, "Matty, are you awake?" Casey goes upstairs to check on them. Matty was standing over the baby's crib, holding a mirror to the baby's face. After being hit with the mirror, Casey's eyes begin to change color and she learns she had a twin brother who died in the womb. Casey begins to suspect that the spirit haunting her is the soul of her dead twin, being possessed by a dybbuk, wanting to be born so it can transfer to the world of the living. Casey meets a woman named Sofi, who is revealed to be her grandmother. Sofi explains that she had a twin brother who was killed in Nazi experiments in Auschwitz when they were both just children. The boy was brought back to life by a dybbuk who intended to use his body as a portal into the world of the living. Sofi killed her twin to stop the dybbuk, and now it haunts her family for revenge. Sofi refers Casey to Rabbi Sendak, who can perform a Jewish exorcism to remove the dybbuk.

This was a huge disappointment, I wouldn't really recommend it. The acting and writing were over done, what could have made this more realistic or scary is just a touch up on the writing. The lead actress Odette Yustman really needs experience, she was just alright in the film. Of course I love the cliché of the crazy black best friend who calls her crazy at first but then all of a sudden is attacked at last second. If you do watch this, if you want a good scare, turn on the lights, I admit there are still some freaky moments, better than most of the PG-13 horror movies, but the story was just bad. It just could have been a lot better.

I was really not expecting much, was looking to one of those generic "newgen" 3D animations but, oh, I was so wrong. I can easily say Bolt is pretty much at par with Wall-E, the 2 21th century animations that conquered my heart.

Few times I laughed, few times I had watery eyes, and it's impossible not to adore the characters and be at the edge of the seat as you follow the story. Also really loved the "authentic" finale with Penny and Bolt.

The Real D (my first ever 3D glasses movie too) was the cherry on the cake with the astonishing graphics.

In 1845, in the North West Territories in Canada, the sick boy James Logan is in the bed with fever and his father and his friend Victor are in the room with him. When Victor's father breaks in the Logan 's house, he shoots and kills James' father; the revengeful James sees claws in his hands and he kills Victor's father that tells him that he is his real father before he dies. The boys run away promising to protect each other. When they grow up, they fight in the American Civil War, World War I, World War II and Vietnam and they find that they are indestructible. However, Victor (Liev Schreiber) is thirsty of blood and Logan (Hugh Jackman) controls him until the day Victor decapitates his commander; Logan protects his brother and they are both sentenced to death by firing squad. However the execution fails and Logan and Victor are visited in the cell by Colonel William Stryker (Danny Huston) that invites them to join a special force with other men with abilities. They accept and later the group is assigned to attack a gang of drug dealers in Lagos , Nigeria . However, the objective of Stryker is to retrieve a meteor from the hands of the drug lord. Then they go to a village and ask where the locals had found the meteor and to force them to answer, Stryker orders them to kill the villagers. Logan rebels against the action and leaves the special force. Six years later, he lives in the Canadian Rockies with his beloved and seductive Kayla (Lynn Collins) and works as lumberjack. When Stryker arrives in the location, he tells that someone is hunting down the former members of the special force. In the night, Kayla tells him the love story in the spirit world of Kuekuatsheu a.k.a. Wolverine and the lonely moon; when the powerful Victor arrives in the spot and kills Kayla, Logan realizes that has not enough power to destroy his brother. Logan seeks Stryker that promises him to increase his powers if he accepts to be the subject of a painful experiment with the metal compound "adamantium". Logan accepts and is destroyed while Wolverine is born seeking revenge and finding the hidden truth.

"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" is a great action movie, with a solid dramatic story; great screenplay with many plot points and good acting. The story begins in 1845, when Wolverine has the first contact with his power in a moment of rage when he was a kid, and shows the evolution of his power after the experiment leaded by the evil Stryker. Further, it explains the origin of the name Wolverine. I would like to advise the viewers to wait and watch the whole credits to see the fate of Colonel Stryker first (in the middle of the credits) and the Canadian Wolverine drinking to remember in the very end. My vote is eight.

Watch The Damned United (2009)Full Movie Online For Free

Much has been said to point out that this film is not a sports film so much as it is a character study. It has also been pointed out that, beyond the basic events, it is a work of fiction. I will not comment on the people who managed to miss both these memos because I came to it expecting an interesting look at the male competitive psyche as was in the source material. What this approach offers makes the film much more appealing than the football film of the small club manager going on to big things (which it could also do) – this is perhaps also the reason why plenty of quality actors got involved as well. The end product is a perfectly fine film with solid drama and characters and it is just a shame that it is not a "great" film because of how it seems to pull itself one way or the other all the time.

You see, in terms of events, the scope of the book does not really deliver the "big" events (Derby pipping Leeds to the top on the First Division just sorta "happens"), nor does it really have a massive set piece that it is building to. It tries to set this up in the television interview with Clough and Revie but this doesn't have the spark or impact that it would need to in order to be classed as a set piece. All this is fine though because the film is not about events or about the set pieces of this time period but rather it is about the mind of Clough (as fictionalised here). In the book the material is set inside this head, allowing the focus to be here rather than on the events, so we experience events through this filter with everything impacted by this filter. The film struggles because we are not inside the character but rather outside looking in. This puts the events front and foremost as one would expect from a typical sports film. There are two downsides to this.

The first downside is the aforementioned lack of big narrative set pieces because, with the film as it is, this is what we are looking for at times. The bigger downside is that it means the film does focus on events more than the psychological aspects that the book tackles. You can see that it is constantly trying to do this but it has a lot of "events" to deliver and it does tend to get "bogged down" in these. This still manages to produce an engaging enough film, but you can see the potential and see the cast (Sheen particularly) able to deliver on it and it does feel like a shame that it did not to bring its focus to bare on this with the same success as the book. This is not me grumbling saying "the book is better" or ignoring that film is a different beast, I'm just saying that it is hard to ignore that the film doesn't achieve what it is so clearly trying to achieve – something that the book did.

The film is great when it comes to capturing period though. Whether it is the hideous wallpaper, the ideas of what "posh" is, the boardrooms full of smoking old men, the footballers living in terraced houses etc, it is a very nostalgic film that wears it very well. Sadly this atmosphere is evident rather than being background at times, again distracting from the real story, happening inside the characters. This is minimised though by having a very good cast. Sheen is very good yet again even if, here and there, his turns as Blair and Frost come out of nowhere and distract. He does seem to understand what he is doing here though and the film is best when it focuses on him in the difficult times. He is helped by a great turn from Spall, who perhaps simplifies his character a bit but does well anyway. The two of them work well off one another without Spall ever getting in Sheen's way. Meaney is a great bit of physical casting but he is also suitable in his performance, likewise Broadbent is a nice addition who turns it in.

The total film is an enjoyable drama with a slight comic edge to it but it does not succeed at what it clearly is trying to do. It gets tied up in events as one would expect in a film telling a story, and it does so at the expense of the internal stuff, which is what the film is actually build on. This does weaken it even if the events themselves are enough to engage and the character stuff is evident enough to work, if not to the point of it being great. Worth seeing but Damned United hurts itself by not going "all in" for either the film as events driven or the film as character driven, doing both pretty well but neither brilliantly.

Watch Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

I was set for a goofy and silly comedy, but wound up being disappointed. This movie had a very good cast--- all of the actors are competent and likable. The film's big problem was that it simply was not funny. It wasn't even interesting. Do note the film was not bad. It was not a disgrace or anything like that. The basic idea is a good one, and could have resulted in a great night out. Don't know what happened, or why, but the jokes didn't work. The set-ups fell flat. The otherwise likable people and potentially interesting scenarios never went anywhere.

A few of the running gags were OK--- such as the motorized wheel things being used as the quasi-cop chase vehicles. But having the portly fellow try to pull a crippled man in a motorized wheelchair over (for what? He was going 1/2 mile an hour) on one of those "copped-out" wheely things simply did not fly. No spark. Flat. Zilch. Nada.

Watch Marley & Me (2008) Full Movie Online For Free

I read Marley & Me several years ago and was happy to see a movie was coming out. The initial critic's reviews I read made it sound like a weak movie. They were wrong.

Marley & Me does a great job of telling the story of the Grogan family. Yes, the main character is Marley, but Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson are great in their roles. Marley's antics are hilarious and we get to see the family evolve throughout the movie. I think the writers and directors did a great job in telling this story.

All in all, an enjoyable movie with plenty of laughs and plenty of tears. My daughter and I both enjoyed it a lot. I plan on seeing Marley & Me again in the theater with my husband and I'm sure we'll watch it again on video.

Watch The Last House on the Left (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

Mari Collingwood and her friend Paige meet a nice young man named Justin. Unfortunately, while Justin seems friendly enough, his father and uncle are not so nice. What ensues is a brutal assault... followed up with a family's desire to get revenge. Based strongly on the 1972 original.

2009 is shaping up to be the year of the remake. That worries me... is Hollywood out of ideas? Are they going to kill my childhood memories? But oddly enough, so far they seem to be doing fine. "Friday the 13th" was better than expected for me, and "Last House on the Left" sticks very faithfully to the original, only really making minor adjustments for the time (this is over thirty years later, after all).

We have now the necessary shot of the cell phone without signal. But also, we have a much more ambiguous Mari. In the original, she was very pure, albeit a casual drug user. Now it's not so clear. Sure, she's an athlete and the pride of her family, but she gives the audience a few tease moments, suggesting she's a sexual creature. This, of course, does nothing to make the following events more acceptable.

Some other variations follow, including weapons of choice... who lives and dies, and the inclusion of another person into the plot that wasn't around for the original. While the rape here is brutal, the revenge sequences are perhaps tame compared to the original. So, you have a bit of a toss-up for where they push the envelope.

Overall, I was pleased with this film. I enjoyed the way they brought us a classic horror tale in modern times, and the casting was excellent. Not only is the director largely unknown, so are all the actors (except Monica Potter). So this adds a sense of realism that may not have been there with, say, Scout Taylor-Compton or other young starlet. Thank you for this casting. I do not regret going to see this in the theater, and I would encourage you to do so, as well, particularly if you liked the original. They did well.

Yes, its only an action movie; Yes, the script has more holes than the victims of the main character! Yes, Neeson's rampage in Paris is very implausible; Yes, its not Oscar material... no great acting.

Still... its a very good movie. I gave it a solid 8. I left the movie feel very satisfied... its that kind of movie that is fun and thrilling and brainless at the same time. Doesn't get tiresome. When its outrageous its funny... when the action gets going you feel right in it all.

When you finish seeing the movie you do wonder why Bond and Bourne aren't as macho or mean. Niam's character Bryan("B" letter too) beats up baddies way better and he looks more scary and real somehow than those other pansy agents.

Watch Watchmen (2009 Full Movie Online For Free

Firstly, I have not read the graphic novel. This was deliberate, since I knew there was going to be a movie, and reading any book tends to ruin the movie. I'm sure there are a whole bunch of things in the graphic novel that they left out or changed, and it's hard for those who have read it to imagine how people could understand the subtleties of the story without it. But trust me, the morally complex, multi-layered characters and plot were very well delivered by the movie alone. There was nothing that seemed like it didn't make sense or wasn't quite explained. The movie was just about perfect.

I'm surprised to hear a lot of reviews saying that this is just an action movie for teenage boys; I thought quite the opposite. There was much less action than I expected, the movie centered mostly on emotions and ideas conveyed through dialog, narration and character flashbacks. The action scenes were all fairly short, though when there was action it was delightfully innovative. There were a lot of nasty and unexpected twists like limbs snapping, guts sticking to the ceiling, bones audibly crunching... Every time something violent happened, they made it interesting and shocking rather than recreating the generic ho-hum violence of every other movie. (And there was no obligatory 30-minute-long final action scene culminating in the conclusion of the plot... oh joy! Those get so boring.) Plus, many of the scenes were rather bold for a mainstream film, and showed certain things that are normally hidden off-screen or completely avoided. The only example I feel I can give without spoiling anything is the full frontal male nudity, something that is rather conspicuously hidden in almost every Hollywood movie. This movie isn't concerned about hiding little things like that, just as it isn't concerned about hiding certain subjects that most movies wouldn't show.

Watch 12 Rounds (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

In 12 Rounds, an intrepid cop/detective (John Cena) matches wits with an Irish killer (Aidan Gillen) who's holding his girlfriend hostage in New Orleans. Danny Fisher must go the distance with the madman via "rounds" - that is, challenges - in order to save his girl. Think of it as Saw meets Die Hard, without the profanity and gore.

Now, this is a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) production, so I assumed that it would be kind of action heavy, something that Stallone might have done in the eighties, something with Mack-truck-sized plot holes. But it's not nearly as disappointing; it has an actual plot and throws in enough turns to keep you riveted. Sometimes it helps to have low expectations.

First, here's the good stuff. There are a LOT of explosions. The movie's one big explosion, come to think of it. And of course it is, it's directed by Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger). Now, you might think that a movie that's just one big explosion would get tedious eventually, but the movie's tone hearkens back to those mindless star-powered action movies of yesteryear - that is, the Hero is more superhero than actual guy, and that gives it a little more appeal.

Then there's Cena. For a pro wrestler, he's a very good action star. He's believable and sincere, and since he's in peak physical condition you get the impression that he actually can do the grueling feats he's attempting. His likability here saves the movie, at least to some extent. Cena's not a character I've thought of as particularly charismatic, at least not in the sense that Roddy Piper was/is charismatic, but he's a Git R Done, meat-and-potatoes kind of guy. He's no frills action, a man you could see playing a cop, like here, or a fireman, or an astronaut.

Fisher's adversary, played by Adian Gillen, is a master planner, a meticulous scholar of revenge. The impetus for his kidnapping of Fisher's girl is that Miles Jackson's girl was accidentally killed in a hit and run while they were attempting to flee Fisher a year previously (to the day, of course). Obviously, the girl's death was all Danny Fisher's fault, so Jackson escapes from prison and hatches his elaborate scheme.

I saw this film because nothing else was playing that I wanted to watch. While I like animated films, and, in particular, Disney animated films, I find most Disney live-action films pitched far too low for my taste.

I also read several reviews, which were not encouraging. These focused mostly on acting style and pacing. Apparently, it never occurred to the reviewers that any acting style and pacing will do if it happens to be appropriate to the film. Instead, the reviewers appear to feel that acting style and pacing, in and of themselves, can be bad.

This film was far better than I expected. The acting style and pacing are entirely appropriate to what it is: the summer action movie we never saw last summer. If, like me, you spend summer 2008 watching a series of alleged "summer action movies" and seeing nothing of the sort on the screen, you should see this film.

Watch The Brothers Bloom (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

While the complete polar opposite of Brick, Johnson left the Dashiell Hammett prose and instead decided to delve into Wes Anderson territory. His The Brothers Bloom is a smart, witty adventure that takes some unexpected turns on its journey, never lets a detail fall into obscurity, and shows that if nothing else, he is a high caliber storyteller that should be around for a long time, not rehashing the same thing over and over again, but churning out refreshingly new and unique yarns to entertain and enlighten.

This tale is about a duo of con men—the best in the world—who reunite to do one last job. The younger, Bloom, has been playing the roles written by Stephen since they were children, always embodying the character so easily because it allowed him to be that which was not himself. After having fallen in love with too many marks, only to watch as they swindled and left them out to dry, Bloom is ready to quit and goes into self-imposed exile for three years until his partner finds him and rounds him up for one last big score. That score involves an eccentric shut-in, a woman who has never left her mansion and collects hobbies in order to entertain herself. A master with a deck of cards, juggler extraordinaire, harp player, and ping-pong champ, amongst other activities, there is little she does not know. This epileptic photographer is anxious to go off on an adventure and opening up to the Brothers Bloom is her perfect opportunity to do so, and their best chance at an easy million dollars.

What the men did not account for was her inexhaustible sense of enthusiasm and uncanny knack for the con game. Getting herself out of situations that the brothers can't even fathom and catching on to things so quickly, it's as though the mark becomes the professional, however, that is exactly Stephen's plan. She is a woman of intelligence, beauty, and unique without compare. Penelope is exactly the girl that Bloom has been looking for, but of course, she is discovered in one of Stephen's stories, accessible only until they must cut her loose. Yet, here comes the first "what if" of the film. What if our orchestrator has concocted this all for Bloom, a con on a grand scale in order to give him the life he always wanted? Bloom does say that Penelope feels just like one of Stephen's characters, but as he says in his defense, "the day I con you, is the day I die." We can only hope those words don't become prophetically true.

Watch Duplicity (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

Ray (Clive Owen) and Claire (Julia Roberts) are in the spy business. At a huge party in Dubai, Ray propositions Claire and he succeeds in getting her back to his hotel room. However, not realizing that Claire is an agent, Ray makes a huge mistake and ends up in a drugged-induced slumber while Claire takes some important documents from him. It won't happen again. Now, five years later, each of them is a corporate spy, on opposite sides, working for two top United States manufacturing companies, whose products run from soap to nuts. One is headed by the eccentric Howard Tully (Tom Wilkinson) and the other is run by conniving Dick (Paul Giamatti). Now, word comes that Tully's company may have a huge new product rolling out very soon and Dick is livid. Why hasn't his spy team been able to sniff out the details and prevent his firm from taking a major hit? And, could it be that Ray and Claire are still a "couple", despite the fact that they now seemingly work to the other's detriment? Here is another winner from Tony Gilroy, who gave the world the powerful Michael Clayton. But, while his former film was very dark, this one is fun, fun, fun and games. As the two principal stars, Owen and Roberts are truly amazing, great-looking, quick-witted, and sneaky. Supporting them greatly, in much smaller roles, are Giamatti and especially Wilkinson, who provide the story's raison d'etre. In fact, when Wilkinson breaks into a huge, gleeful smile at the end, you can't help but share his nefarious joy. The plot, while complicated, is fairly easy to follow, the settings are terrific (Rome, London, New York), and the costuming quite nice. If there is any fault to be had, its probably with the direction and/or editing, for the film could have been "snappier". However, its camera work, complete with revolving rectangles of shots, is inspired and admirable. All in all, if you want to see great actors, saying clever lines in a topnotch film, then, do make time for this one. Felicity will reign after a showing of Duplicity, that's for sure.

WatchAdventureland (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

There will be a backlash against "Adventureland", or at least a disappointed reaction from some. The reason being that the film was marketed as another raunchy-sweet comedy from the Apatow empire, when in fact it has almost nothing to do with those films, and is very different from most of writer/director Greg Mottola's previous film "Superbad" (which is great in its own way, but it's nothing like this film). It is a tender, intimate romance surrounded by goofball humor, but the extent of the 'dirty jokes' in this movie is Jesse Eisenberg's character James getting out of the pool at a house party with an erection.

The movie is a sentimental (not sappy, mind), very personal, journey through the summer of 1987 for recent college grad and deep thinker James Brennan (played superbly by Jesse Eisenberg), whose plans for the summer fall apart (due to Reaganomics affecting his father's income) resulting in him having to get a crappy job at the titular amusement park. There he meets Em, played by Kristen Stewart, and the romance, which is the focus of the film, begins. This is very, very far removed from the slob-meets-babe formula common in comedies in recent years. James is a virgin, true, a 22 year old one at that, but that has far more to do with the character's tentative nature than any 'quest' to get laid (ala "The 40 Year Old Virgin", which works on its own terms of course, but is again nothing like "Adventureland"), and he is far from bad looking. Em isn't a dolled-up 'hot chick' with perfectly styled hair and perfect style, she's moderately well-dressed and naturally beautiful, but wears makeup in a grand total of two scenes, and is actually NOT the 'babe' in the film (that's Margarita Levieva as Lisa P, who, though the 'babe', is not the sought-after one).

I am finding it hard to describe exactly why I loved this film as much as I did, but I think it mostly comes down to subtle, wonderful writing by Mottola, who was obviously telling a personal story here and did a great job of it. The screenplay is a funny, poignant take on post-collegiate angst and love, with some elements of social satire, and its focus is one of the most memorable and wonderful romances in quite some time. This romance makes Stewart's breakthrough hit "Twilight" seem even more offensively dumb, because of just how real it is.

Watch Dragonball Evolution (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

Now, all I can say first off is this is exactly what you thought it would be. Hollywood took a popular Japanese anime, and turned it into an American teenager popcorn flick. If you are upset when a movie does not stay true to the original work, then this is not the movie for you.

In the beginning, we find Goku on his 18th birthday, and as a present his Grandfather gives him the four star Dragonball. Soon he leaves to ride his bike to school, thats right, Goku is a high school student. Goku is picked on by the school jocks and wishes he could get with one of the popular girls who we soon find out is Chi-Chi. The usual high school underdog cinema junk.

While trying to win the heart of Chi-Chi, he also faces the dangers of Lord Piccolo (who looks more like a Buffy Vampire) who has returned to Earth in search of the Dragonballs. After bumping into Bulma and recruiting the help of Master Roshi, who lives in an apartment building in the city, they set out to protect the Earth.

Since I watched Dragonball, Dragbonball Z, and Dragonball GT when I was younger, my curiosity forced me to try it. It couldn't hold my interest for very long sadly, and I didn't finish the movie. I highly suggest waiting till DVD to purchase/rent. You're probably even better off just finding a torrent of it out there.

Watch The Haunting in Connecticut (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

I'm sure it helped that I was in the right mood and the right atmosphere when I saw this movie at a midnight screening at South by Southwest, but The Haunting in Connecticut was a horror movie that really struck a chord with me.

I'm a longtime fan of this genre, getting acquainted with all the old classics and cult films through USA Saturday Night Horror when I was young, and continuing to see and love newer ones, such as The Ring, throughout college. However, when I go on a rant about the current state of horror movies, I tell people that today's movies make you heighten your sense of disbelief too much in order to be scared – I call it "fantasy horror." There aren't enough movies like The Exorcist anymore where it absolutely feels real, like something that has always existed but you've just been lucky enough to avoid.

I loved The Haunting in Connecticut, because it is much closer to reality horror than fantasy, and I suppose that's because it's based on a true story. It just doesn't feel like it came straight out of someone's imagination. It was the kind of movie where, not only did I find myself wondering about the true story of the Snedeker family, but when I went to sleep that night, I couldn't help pondering the history of my own home and its previous tenants. If you're the type of person who loves horror movies, I assume that's the exact creepy way you want them to resonate.

Besides the background story, one of the other reasons I think this movie worked was because of the performance of Kyle Gallner. This young man plays a much more complex (and believable) protagonist than most of the ones I've seen in horror films lately, as his character, Matt, has a very familiar (and scary in its own right) disease that makes him question whether the haunting is real, or a symptom of his sickness. I venture to say that his character could have made an interesting movie even BEFORE the paranormal activity starts, but Gallner was exceptional in this role, and I think we'll still be talking about "the boy in The Haunting in Connecticut," 10 years from now.

Just saw a screening of this movie. It was great. Paul Rudd & Jason Segel are an amazing match - we've seen that in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" - their chemistry is natural...and it just works. I laughed A lot during this movie. It's been a while since I've run across a comedy that is smarter than most in terms of humor.

The other supporting characters are quirky, delicious... Jamie Pressley plays to perfection. I recommend this movie to everyone for a great laugh...it's a very feel-good movie. Oh, and Rashida Jones was cute, lovable and had a great character to play. I haven't seen her in too many movies in the past, so it was refreshing to see a different leading lady for a chance.

Watch Knowing (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

It may seem improbable, but Knowing actually adds something fresh and inspiring to the disaster genre.

Certainly the action scenes are well staged – they are as grand and tense as the previews would have you expect. But Knowing really stands out from the likes of Next and various Roland Emmerich movies because of its heart (there is a profoundly human element amongst the chaos and destruction), and because of the surprising, riveting turns the story takes. In no way was it a generic "save the world" flick, like I feared going in. It is an original with a memorable ending that should not be spoiled, but it will almost definitely have people talking.

In my mind, director Alex Proyas deserves a lot of the credit for the fact that the film is brave, and does not try to replicate a typical Hollywood blueprint. In fact, he even has Nic Cage back on solid footing, an actor I used to love but have been quite weary of lately. But I think Proyas deserves the main kudos for turning this into something creative and special, and I'd go as far as to say this it is his best movie since Dark City.

There really isn't much to complain about regarding the film, but the one exception might be the middle, where the action sags a bit. Still, I think the captivating final third more than makes up for it.

I definitely recommend the film - you will be pleasantly surprised!

Watch Observe and Report (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

I saw the same screening mentioned below in New York last week. Jody Hill introduced the film and told us it was not finished but it still was pretty awesome. I liked Hill's Foot Fist Way and this was something like that but even wilder. Seth Rogen plays a hyped up mall security guard who wants nothing more than to be able to carry a gun and carry off Anna Faris' character…a hot counter girl at the mall.

While it will receive obvious comparisons with Paul Blart: Mall Cop, the world of Observe and Report makes Blart's look like Rodeo Drive on a warm spring day. Hill has a gift for mining comedy out of the mundane, and he effectively populates his mall with a hilarious food court of human pain.

Rogen adds a surprising depth to his usual comic genius as the bipolar Ronnie. Faris is a disgusting delight--one of the few actresses who can remain attractive even while she's throwing up. Her performance reminds us why she is one of the best comediennes working today.

Ray Liotta brings his distinct brand of over-the-top hilarity to the role of Detective Harrison. Patton Oswalt, Michael Pena, and Azis Ansari are a perfect supporting cast. While most of Observe's key male demographic will be horrified to find the graphic nudity is primarily of the non-female persuasion, it effectively sets up a world where anything can, and does, happen. This is perhaps Hill's greatest strength—he's willing to push the boundaries of comedy to the very edge, resulting in a fresh, daring voice that will leave audiences sore from laughter.

Watch Monsters vs Aliens (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

When I first heard of Monsters vs. Aliens I literally went giddy. A 50's B-movie revival! Stephen Colbert as the President! Hugh Laurie as a cockroach! I mean, it's called Monsters vs. Aliens!!!

What I got was a mildly good movie. I mean, there were some nice gags in the Strangelove- lite War Room, and some great lines from BOB, but it really left me wanting more. As a whole, the film never got to the comical heights of Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, or even Shrek 2. There are times in the movie where you know that they are going completely random to try and get some laughs, but fail pretty badly.

Besides comedy, the story itself is pretty predictable. From the moment you meet the monsters you know what the moral of the story, and you know pretty much how the whole film will play out.

But it is not a bad film. Not at all. It's good, but not great. What IS great is the 3D. Me, I've never really warmed to 3D, but they use it here in a completely different sense. Monster's vs Alien's 3D is not about shouting "OMG I CAN TOUCH HIS BEARD!!", but more about perspective. And hair. I'm sorry but it's worth seeing just for Ginormica's (Susan's) hair alone.

So basically, it's fun - but not as fun as it should have been. And take it from me: even if you're cynical about 3D; see it in 3D. It's worth the ticket price alone.

Watch Fast & Furious (2009) Full Movie Online For Free

Director Justin Lin has a distinctive thrilling visual style. The opening sequence of his "Fast & Furious" is an amazing adrenaline rush. Dom (Vin Diesel) and his girlfriend Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) highjack a cargo truck careening down a ravine in the Dominican Republic. Dom, unflinchingly guts out a crazy maneuver that saves himself and Letty from fiery death. This establishes the tone for "Fast & Furious": extreme and full throttle. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker reunite in this satisfying re-energizing of the franchise. Justin Lin generates spectacular eye candy: strong heroes, slick cars, gorgeous women, intense action, and some to the wildest high speed sequences. The soundtrack is pretty hot, too.

What is interesting: this time around Chris Morgan's story is about vengeance. What works is the dynamic chemistry of Diesel and Walker. Diesel is not breaking new territory. He plays to his strength as the powerful dark hero, who follows a code of honor. Paul Walker is a pleasant surprise. He infuses a force and charisma in Brian O'Connor. Walker has become a stronger actor since "The Fast and the Furious". This time around he and Diesel are true screen partners. Theirs is a partnership of friction, brotherhood, and ultimately of respect which grounds "Fast and Furious". In one scene former girlfriend and Dom's younger sister Mia (beautiful and strong Jordana Brewster) asks why Brian (Walker) let Dom (Diesel) go 8 years ago. Brian tells Mia it's because Dom taught him: "Nothing matters unless you have a code." Brian also confesses that he is still trying to find his own code.

After Dom's stunt in the Dominican Republic, the authorities are closing in on him. To protect the love of his life, Letty (Rodriguez), he leaves her the money and disappears. However, while in exile Mia breaks the news to Dom that Letty has been murdered back home in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, FBI Agent O'Connor is hunting down the mysterious drug cartel kingpin Baraga, who is able to move large shipments of narcotics across the border with his elite drivers. Brian is also tracking down Dom, who he knows will come back to Los Angeles because of the personal tragedy.

Dom returns home just flying under the FBI radar. He has Mia show him where Letty was killed in a car crash. Dom discerns that Letty was brutally murdered, and that the murderer left a distinguishing signature. Mia pleads with Dom to let this go: this will not bring Letty back. Dom sullenly declared, "It's already too late." He intends to kill Letty's murderer and find the man ultimately responsible. All paths lead to the mysterious Baraga. So Dom and Brian's destinies collide as they compete as drivers for Baraga's right hand Campos (slick John Ortiz). That race too, is another spectacular mind blowing ride through the trafficked streets of Los Angeles.

Okay much of "Fast and Furious" is predictable and formulae; however, Justin Lin does so with amazing style and verve. He keeps the action crisp and vibrant. Diesel and Walker are solid heroes to cheer for. Bad guys Campos (Ortiz) and Fenix (ruthless Laz Alonzo) are completely despicable. Jordana Brewster is the right blend of tough and smart as Mia. Surprisingly good is beautiful and enigmatic Gal Gadot as Gisele, who has a soft spot for Dom. "Fast and Furious" is a high speed vengeance tale with charismatic heroes Diesel and Walker. Director Lin keeps our attention with hot cars, hot women, and spectacular stunts. "Fast and Furious" is not going win any awards, but it is thoroughly entertaining.

Watch Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009) Full Movie Fore Free

Our family loved this movie and of a packed theater no one left early,in fact most stayed through the ending credits. Great music and family fun. There was nothing inappropriate in the whole movie so it is very kid friendly. That being said the adults in our family enjoyed it also.

There was also some cameos from country stars such as Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift. As parents of a 6 year old daughter we are happy to find family friendly movies. I do not understand why if this is not your type of movie why one would even bother to give a biased opinion on the movie. If your not attending this movie with kids then don't bother giving your opinion and try to ruin it for others.
